My mildly tuned GT is slightly quicker than my mate's even more mildly tuned ZR 1.4 16v, especially off the line. Once the 16v gets further up the rev range and up to power though it starts to catch up but it's still no match for the Polo.
It'd be interesting to see how mine fares against my mate's 2.0 8v Calibra, on paper that's similar performance wise to the ZR. I'd imagine that's got more potential for high speed torque than the ZR or Polo mind.
G40 would eat both for breakfast, then lick the plate.

The M6T... or do you own an airstrip?DanW wrote: Along the *private* motorway
Either way that's good on the flat for a 55hp car - be expecting it to sputter out about dead-on 100, if it makes it there at all. Windy day?
I'm not too sure either, it's just something I've heard others talk about in relation to tuning the higher powered Polo (& other VW) engines. Some thing either in the intake tube or the filter box which chokes the airflow at higher speeds. Just a little bit of plastic sticking out of the inside of the intake was how i always imagined it from the descriptions.hardhitter wrote: Dunno what you mean about a restrictor flap..
