Yeah no doubt they are worth more in parts at the moment but it does seem a shame to break a GTI just because of damaged paintwork

These cars must be getting pretty rare in the UK now, there seem to be so many being broken up and crashed these days

I made ALOT of money breaking mine. So much that I paid for a holiday for me and mrs & kids to turkey and brought a new car. Made sence to me.
I made about 1300-1400 on mine in 2009, thats selling everything bar body panels, one headlight. Looks like you did well out of it too man
With my payout I made £3100 total maybe a few £'s more. That was with £1600 payout for the car. Why spend £1k on a spray when you can get a good deal for £720.

That is a typical example of bad painting lol...
Any bets your car has had some paintwork done and the reason that is peeling is the base coat being left to long after being sprayed before clear coat being applied...
If no paintworks has been done then that is well odd for an oem paint problem..
Afraid that's a body shop visit... All that clear has to be removed otherwise all your new shiny paint will come off.. Nightmare....

The paint is like that on all handles, bumpers, mirrors and spoiler. It's nearly the whole car.
