Yeah that would be cracking if you can get some decent interior shots too. You can't sink yourself into it all when your at a dealer!

Big thanks!
Sorry only just looked at this forum as I don't check often as it can go quiet from time to time so no I'm not ignoring you!!. I'll try and get some pics up ASAP. Presume you guys all use Photobucket??
@alanblakey9, it's the standard SE infotainment system that I've got if that's what you're after. The infotainment system is one of the best bits of the car in my opinion!!

Today is the start if my build week (commencing week beginning 23/11/14) I was just wondering as the build has not started on the tracker yet do they start to build today or start tomorrow and how long does it take and is it roughly 4 weeks after completion that it arrives? Thanks in advance for any info

From my experience, when building my SEL - they started building on the Monday and by Wednesday 5pm it was built and being loaded onto the train. Started the first stage of 'In Transit' on the Friday.

It was build week 24, which translates to: 09/06/2014 and I collected the car on the 07/07/2014 :)

They say it is roughly 4 weeks from build week to collection, for 3-door models and 5 to 6 weeks for 5-door models. Obviously both depend on shipping slots at Emden and weather/sea conditions for the crossing.

Some pics of my Mayan Blue 6C. 1 week old - gave it it's first wash this morning.
Please excuse the state of the interior as it's in need of a clean but was too busy to do it all today!
Also bear in mind that the blue looks a lot lighter in the pictures than it actually is in the metal. Picture quality isn't great as they were only taken with my Samsung Tab3

Very nice Wolfi, really liking the colour. How are you finding it day-to-day?

For what it's worth, I've noticed from your picture (and cross referencing the VW and older posts) that VW have removed two buttons from under the main controls on the steering wheel. Not that I know what they do :|

It's great day to day! The engine freels a lot faster than just a 1.2 and goes well from 2200 rpm. Its also noticeably quieter than the the boggo 1.2 in my old Match.
Would recommend the car (and dealer - Leicester VW) highly to anyone as it really good value for money.

Well @wolfi I can sure say I'm majorly jealous! Nice take to take delivery of it too with the festive season around the corner. Blue is really nice too mind. Makes the chrome on the front stand out too!

Pleased to hear that you're happy with the 1.2 TSI too! So does it really start covering ground from 2200Rpm onwards then? Also how's the gearbox been for breaking in? Is it stupidly tight or has it been okay?

Pictures are decent too thanks for taking to time to post them! But yeah, I'm with @tankmontana on this whole button thing. I initially thought it was the same layout across the board however there is variation out there. I know that some European variations (seen on Instagram) come entirely without any!! There is also one I seen that even had a matte plastic trim on the steering wheel, again, with no buttons. I don't think that we'll be ladged with no buttons but it does get you thinking.

It seems that the upper cluster on some are for ACC I think and then the lower cluster is sometimes used for volume control. Meh. Not the end of the world though! Also heard anything new from your dealer at all or has it all went quiet?

Firstly, thanks for all of the kind comments - I can't get over how much of an improvement it is over the 6R!
The steering wheel with extra buttons is for the ACC which is often standard on Golfs so looks unusual with less. The Matt black steering wheels are for 'S' models of the Polo and Golf (and most other VW models as that style of steering wheel is being rolled out by Vdub across the range).
Engine wise, the car picks up all the way through the range but pushes noticably on from 2200 RPM.
The gearbox is not tight at all and the car feels lighter to drive than before (especially the steering as its now all-electrical instead of part mechanical). The car is just so much smoother all over and feels higher in quality than ever before. I have noticed that the gap between the panels is shorter than my previous 6R which is always a tell-tale sign of it being better put together
Cheers guys! :D

I think the extra buttons are just for cruise in general- they're there on the SEL which has regular cruise control.

Quick post, the vw tracker is pointless and annoying. No point in using it hasn't worked for any part of the order had to call up every time to find out what's happening, build week started Sunday yet still no change on the vw tracker, called up and told it is in fact being built *sigh* ahh well not long now

I'm waiting on my order for a 3 door 1.2TSI SEL in Blue Silk!

I ordered mid October and although I don't have a build week confirmed on the tracker my dealer told me I'm currently scheduled for week 16.

It does seem rather a long delay though, if it stays at week 16 it will be just a few days short of 6 months from placing a deposit to the start of manufacturing!

Regarding the buttons, I'm going to say I should stop inspecting each tiny part of the configurator imagery as it's telling me lies! Saying that, I've found that the European configurator gives better images and shows both day and night pictures!

About the online tracker, even the VW CS rep said it was quite slow and not that great of a indicator of an orders true status. Go figure :?

Mine went to In Transit today - only after asking the VW garage why it had been sat on in build for 3 weeks :).

Seeing as they are lending me a demo car while I wait for it to arrive I'm not going to complain. (Company car order, and we then get outstanding levels of service from the dealer as we buy 4 Golfs a year off them).

Really looking forward to getting my Blue GT, been ages since I had a small nippy hatch that I don't have to spend the weekends fixing......

I wouldn't expect the Tracker to be 'real time' to be honest, although technically it shouldn't be hard to do.

Maybe they'd be better off dropping it if they can't make it work properly.

You asked earlier in the thread how long it takes to build a Polo. I can't say for sure, but I did some work at the Valmet plant in Finland some years ago where they were building Saab convertibles and Porsche Boxsters on the same line, and it took only a matter of hours for the chassis to come in one end, after painting, and emerge a completed and fully assembled car at the other. The level of automation was incredible, and I'd be surprised if VW's plants weren't even better.

Basically, it doesn't take long!

@Tooks I know yeah it should be extremely simple when you think about it I work at a feeds place (obviously extremely different) but every tonne has a batch number and is logged in the system sending out about 500+ tonnes a day and we're not exactly a big company like vw iv heard it only takes hours yet on vw website it says 30 hours over 3-4 days for a golf so would have expected less from a polo, it started being built on the 23rd so technically should be done by now and on the way, I'll call tomorrow and find out :)

Thanks for your reassurance :)
