When pulling away it's impossible to get a smooth takeoff especially when trying to get out into gaps at roundabouts the revs rise car begins to move then revs die back down to just below 1000rpm and I get a brrrr noise from under the bonnet and car bogs down for a second or two then springs into life also the same when cruising along and then wanting to accelerate to overtake etc same thing noise from under bonnet and car bogs and actually begins to slow down then all of a sudden takes off.

I know that a bit of turbo lag is to be expected but this seems a bit extreme.

It's been back to Volkswagen and they have said they can't find a problem and that's just how they are but I'm not convinced especially seeing as it didn't do this to begin with when I first collected the car and the test drive model I drove wasn't like it either.

Has anybody else on here had the same or similar problem? And did you get to the bottom of it?

Thanks in advance

Chris

Good morning, I have exactly the same problem. Polo 1.25 Tsi 2015. Can you tell me how this malfunction was resolved? Thank you very much

Hello and welcome to this forum!

I hope that "he" replies to this, but, as he last posted back in September and has only posted 3 times, maybe "he" only joined this forum to ask/solve that problem.

Unfortunately as you only have 1 posting, I don't think that you are allowed to send him a personal message - and he as he only has 3 postings will not be able to receive a personal message.

A bit of a nuisance really but it will be due to forum rules set up to protect each other from problems - which I agree with.

My wife runs a 2015 Polo 1.2TSI 110PS SEL 5 Door, but does not have that problem, but as usual, I am very interested in the problems that can arise with that version of 1.2TSI engine both in 90PS and 110PS form.

Thank you so much for the quick response. I have already looked for help on the stand vw and do not know how to respond. They say that they do not find any problem. The car is under warranty and here in Portugal the VW guarantees work very badly.
Anyway thanks for the help, it may be that in the meantime someone knows how to solve this situation.
I apologize for my English.

My wife's car might have had another S/W update when it went in for its final service under warranty, that sort of thing annoys me as they never ever seem to add any comments wrt updating any module's S/W and what any of these changes covered, that is not right!

Car currently seems to run well enough, some of the early issues we had with that car would be due to us coming from a low powered non turbo 1.4 16V to a higher powered turbo charged 1.2 16V.

Edit:- sometimes I still find myself letting the engine bog down, but I tend to blame myself for that and not driving it correctly!

Another Edit:- my 2011 Audi S4 always blips the throttle when you press the cutch pedal down and let it back up, it will be deliberate to improve emissions and driveability.
