Re: R: Retrofitting of Auto leveling headlight system (AFS) for Polo 6R
Hi ciclo,
i've discovered an italian guy who (maybe) modified the french scheme and he said to me that he tested it on lots of Polo 6R from 2010 to 2013 with success (he didn't mentioned the bluemotion ones: I'll ask him about it as soon as possible).
The leds don't flicker and the high-beams works also when the low-beams are off. The only thing that doesn't work is the dimming of leds.
BTW, It's a completely plug&play solution: no need for BCM change or to plug new cables to the BCM.
I've just paid this guy to make a pair of these modified adaptors: as soon as they'll be delivered to me, I'll be able to test them and report the result on this forum as well.
While I'm waiting for the delivery, I prepare all the infos requested in your quote.
Thank you so much for your time.

In my opinion ciclo solutions are the best, because they look like factory.
Therefore, I do not change everything at once, but I do it in stages. But I do it like OEM.
I assure you that ciclo is always trying to help and I am very grateful to him!

Confirmed, after all these years ciclo must be the most silly guy over earth's surface, still to be confirm in the outer space.

Re: Retrofitting of Auto leveling headlight system (AFS) for Polo 6R
A thought (BCM High and original bixenon headlights)...
It is of supposition that a car part have to be in charge to send less power when the DRLs are located in the low beam bulbs, so...
... anyone took into account that there are several (Ref. number, PR-code) OEM light switches for 6R?
Will there be a light switch that is capable of supplying power to the LED module (DRLs) directly from T17/3 (light switch in 0 position) without going through BCM and without reduce voltage?
Would be legal in this way? (full brightness all the time it's not legal, according traffic rules for Europe)
If your BCM High have the pins 5,6 in B socket (white connector), front side/parking lights would work in Led module if you connect them properly?
---
@CNK (with SB56 fuse), what is the ref number of your light switch? Can you take the voltage measure with a multimeter on SB56 fuse with light switch in 0 position and engine running?
---
The five OEM ways to connect the DRLs for 6R
Does it make sense ask for information when someone requests help?

Re: Retrofitting of Auto leveling headlight system (AFS) for Polo 6R
I still believe BCM High/Max is the only solution. The LED modules need power in many cases:
ACC on, DRL on
ACC on, parking lights on
ACC on, low beams on
ACC off, parking lights on both sides
ACC off, parking lights on one side
I don't believe a light switch can do this. And the battery might drain, if the LED modules are connected to permanent 12V

Throught T17/3 (light switch in 0 position) is only with ignition key (D). No battery drain problem.
This is just to expand the knowledge of others... although I am sure that only a few have understood what I wrote in my previous message.
In any case the best is the change from BCM High to BCM Max to retrofit bixenon headlights.

Hi ciclo,
I've just installed the Bi-Xenon Headlights with success.
Using the adaptors made by this italian guy and modifing the long-coding of my BCM has solved all the problems I was afraid of.
I can use the high-beams when the low-beams are off and leds don't flicker when I quiclky turn the steering wheel while the engine idles.
Everything works exactly as I wanted!
The only thing I don't have is the dimming of the leds, but I honestly don't like it.
If it can be helpfull for others, I can post my old long-coding and my new one, so we can understand what I changed to fix the flickering of the leds.

I don't know what you mean.
I disabled all the lights when the light-switcher is set on 0, because I never liked that some lights turned on automatically by turning on the instrument cluster.
In this way when I move the light-swircher on the first step, the leds and all the other lights switch on.
Then at the second step the low-beams switch on.
If you want I can make a video.

Yes, the leds, the rear lights and the license plate lights switch on.
I've made a video, but my license plate is visible: is that a problem?

Here are two videos that show that the parking lights work:

Hey, can you confirm, that this part is together with required bracket:
According to the seller it is 6R0941273B sensor.
Or I need anything more?
I noticed that in Polo Sedan people use some other parts, eg .: https://www.drive2.com/l/7316241/
