Not possible, you will have to access the Eeprom and change change stored value.
Probably the Worlds greatest Polo resource

Thank you for the reply, does accessing the Eeprom needs some kind of special tool?amer6R wrote: Tue Sep 29, 2020 7:22 am Not possible, you will have to access the Eeprom and change change stored value.
Thank you for a detailed reply mate!amer6R wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 6:59 am Remove cluster from car.
Open the cluster by removing torx screws.
Turn needles in anti clock rotation while pulling up.
Remove the tacho plate, on the PCB there is an EEprom chip.
You will need SOIC clamp ( if you dont want to de solder the chip)
If you are going to remove it with an iron USE FLUX!
Best way of removing is having a blower station.
The tool needed "USB Programmer CH341A Series Burner Chip 24 EEPROM BIOS Writer 25 SPI Flash"
If you dont have the soldering skills, take the board to some SMD repair place, or a phone repair place and ask them to remove the chip for you.
Code: Select all
Thank you amer for your great explanation (not just this one).amer6R wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 6:59 am Remove cluster from car.

I managed to do this via VCDS adaptation in several PQ25 platform instrument clusters from Skoda Rapid, however in VDO clusters from Polo 6R it's usually locked and only making changes in the EEPROM brings results.Polo6RBiH wrote: Sun Jan 12, 2025 9:26 pm Does someone know exact Adress(hex) Lenght(dec) and ALFiD (I don't know what ALFiD is) for needle sweep, staging
I have OBDeleven and it has option to code EEPROM so I might give it a try if someone knows these values..![]()
When you enter these values you hold on R to read it and then you can change it..(I think)
