I suppose for what you're getting it's not a terrible price.

At first I thought it was too high. A guy close to me offered ECU & TCU for £500 all in, done by a company called quantum tuning, read some terrible reviews and can’t find any forum either stating how good or bad they were.

Found a good amount of info on TVS and the fact they are apparently one of the best DSG software developers in Europe that must count for something.

Peron automotive quotes me the same thing for £995 and they are the only other company within a 40 mile range of me who are registered dealers are TVS so, I’m going to just bite the bullet and go for it, otherwise I’ll keep checking my phone everyday about different remaps available and I’ll never get it done and probs be very unhappy with the car!

I got in touch with Peron last year and this is what they quoted me. Wasn’t going to pay that for a Stage 1.

Mine wasn't on the dyno. Numbers don't interest me much and depend on the used dyno also. Ik must be somewhere around 250 HPS, 430 Nm.
It makes a lot of difference. Best indication is 100-200 km/h. Stock above 20 seconds, I did it in 14,5 seconds.

Don't see why you would ever need extra parts for a stage 1 or stage 1+ really. Just trying to squeeze money where they can.

I think when I get my car remapped it'll either be Celtic Tuning or DRS. Both i've heard good things about and a few friends rate them highly.

Yeah they quoted me £995 for the top one, I was under the impression that they used TVS software but they apparently had their own one developed in house by someone who previously worked on APR and REVO development.

Tried to throw in a Wagner intercooler for me at £1100, think I’ll pass 😂

Reminds me of my Alpina D3.
Alpina took a 320D then fitted it with the turbo, injectors, intercooler and other bit of hardware from the 325D/330D to take it up to around 204bhp and 450NM.
Could never really figure out why when simple remapping a 320D would have got them the same/more.

Can I just check my standard car is in line with others here.
I noticed this morning that I'm changing up at a point where the revs are dropping to around 2500rpm in the next gear.
I'm not sure what higher end revs that equates to, but it's a point I don't want to go beyond as the engine just feels 'nasty' beyond it.
Anyway, 2500rpm and the car just dies a death...literally just really struggles to pick up again...
Same as yours?

I don't know at the moment exactly, but this is an important point of adjusting the DSG, then it shifts up later, which greatly improves the drive

But it's me that's choosing to change up at this point, I'm in 'manual' mode.
I don't like revving it any higher if I can avoid it, because the NVH gets too nasty.

Can you explain this any differently, struggling to understand (probably my illiteracy).

I've only had the one issue with the gearbox where in certain situations i've shifted down and the cars jerked a bit after heavy braking and then when i've set off and shifted up it stays at around 2.5k rpm no matter the gear, even after changing up and down again, and accelerates like a bus. Is this the sort of issue you've had?

Here some TVS results: 280 HP 454 Nm; with complete Milltek (downpipe included) and different air filter.

What octane was that run with?

It's not a gearbox issue.
I'm revving the car to around 4000rpm, I don't like revving it any higher as the NVH does my head in.
4000rpm gets you a decent amount of progress, but it means the next gearchange makes the revs drop to around 2500rpm.
2500rpm is a dead-zone in my car, the car really bogs down and takes an age to pick up from there again.

Like I said before the map is for power everything else is for noises/fun/Special Effects etc. I’ve always enjoyed a nice induction roar and wastegate chatter. Appreciate it’s a personal thing.
