i'll try that then. don't fancy having to pay for another! considering i've already spent about 50 quid on them haha.
car is officially back on the road! i'll be driving it from sunday tho, newport edition onwards. saves me having to wash it again that way.

Not my best day!
One of my dipped beam bulbs has konked, so hopefully HIDs4u will sort that out.
And driving down the motorway a huage something or the other konks my bonnet, it's dented and chipped right through to the bare metal. So frustrated.

More than pi**ed me off. I've gotta get the whole thing repsrayed. Was planning on getting both bumpers repsrayed in two month but I guess I'll have to bring that forward and get it done at the same time, no point in it going back twice. Means I'm gunna have to push my wheels plans back because of money. Not happy!

Re: Tim's GTI. update thread, DETAIL COMPLETE PG 29
Numberplate mounts are fitted, pics shortly after I clean two weeks worth of grime from the car!
These arrived today also:

Upper has gone on already. No pictures yet as the Cars a bit of a mess
Lower brace will go on when I have some spare time, as I need to cut the undertray!

I want to throw it into some corners to see how it behaves. but need to take it easy whilst trying to figure out how to mount the coolant tank securely.

Small update,
Got the lower strut brace on today. had a wrestle with the undertray, but they're now both on! knew it could be done without having to take it off
Does scrape coming up my drive though.
Just waiting for my mate to finish my custom bracket for the coolant tank to clear the upper brace and I'm sailing.
Bad news also, got stopped earlier for my plates. no fine just a warning to take them off, right in my local town too. Gunna have to spend another bloody £30 on new plates now, I will now own 5 sets of plates

Re: Tim's GTI. update thread, BRINGING BACK THE MONOS PG31
nah i bought them new from a guy on here, and it wasn't supplied. I'm still waiting for my mate to make me a custom bracket!
The pepperpots are gunna be given a good clean then stored til winter. Unless a decent replacement for them comes about for the right price.
The Monos are now on and the car is 10mm lower on the front, 5mm on the back. I have a feeling i'm gunna scrub pretty hard.
No pictures as the cars not clean and I still haven't got the centre caps back yet.

Re: Tim's GTI. update thread, BRINGING BACK THE MONOS PG31
I was speeding so it was mainly about that. He just mentioned on his way back to the car to get them changed as they're illegal. I didn't question him.lolhoward wrote:How comes you got done with your plates. They noticed no makers/BS/postcode etc?
Lowered the car another 10mm all round today haha. Will let it set tonight and see how it behaves in the morning. Looking good so far though.
Bad news also, two hours after fitting my Monos I did this to the offside:

And this to the rear offside:

That's what you get for living in the jungle. More than annoyed to say the least! I've never snagged any of my wheels before
As you can see in the pics I've sanded them down a bit, will see about touch up but it's more likely that I'm going to have to get the whole two wheels done for a seemless job. That the bonnet and two wheels now, my car is not looking good for Inters!
Re: Tim's GTI. update thread, BRINGING BACK THE MONOS PG31
Ah balls, gutted Tim
. It's horrible when you hear the wheel hitting a kerb.
