Bl00dy hell...your car sounds like a Turbo charged SUpra lol. That is crazyness!! Make vids of you using air-ride!!!! THat's what we all want to see!! Also, the faces of other drivers! Haha that would be hilarious. Excellent job Jarno....as usual.

Funny thing is, all you hear is the engine itself, I damped all of the boot and insides of the rearpanels, double layer of sound isolation (akoustic foam with those big ass stud like things in it), you can NOT hear ANYTHING of the exhaust on the inside of the car! :D So it's even comfortable to drive on the highway when not pluging the gas-pedal down to mother earth 8)

And I'll make some vids of the airride some day, best face I got was from my girlfriend when I showed it to her. "Come on luv, get in and sit, wanna show you what I build all that time" pssssssssssssss, never saw such a pretty smile her reply= "wow, that's awesome! Let's go to the nearest McDrive and show off!!!"

Just gotta love those kind of remarks from your girl :D

and yes, I did roll off then to show off at the nearest McDrive

however, i'd like to see a photoset of the interior, and the boot, have you made some mods to it? i don't remember..

I'll try to take some pics from the inside as it is at the moment this week  then you be the judge if I did anything on the inside
And yes, the BBS'es aren't coming on before springtime, hate to get those polished lips damaged :(

And about turbo-kits, I hate kits, they cost a sh*tload, and are never "complete" if you wanna do it properly. Why I didn't choose that option is 1) if I'd ever do such a conversion, I'd get forged pistons, of which a good set costs more then all the parts I've put in now (most is second-handed and all is done myself, which saved my sh*tloads of cash!) 2) m8 of mine did it on his AEX engined mk4 Polo, got over 130bhp and 220+Nm torque, because of that he needs to replace the bearings on the crankshaft every year to be save. Those are things I don't feel like doing every year to keep the engine in a 100%. It's all a matter of money and effort here  I only earn about 400 euro each month, so can't afford to buy that kind of parts too though :x

:[/quote]

the "turbo kit" was not a kit
it was a home done conversion done in my shed over the weekend
cost me under£400
the car has had now 2000 miles of abuse and only blown the intercooler pipes off
i used second hand parts like turbo and made a manifold
intercooler second hand and used left over piping from a past project
the management was done buy a freind so didnt cost me anything

I know mate, it wasn't ment as an offence or anything  but I'm the kind of guy who wants to do such a project into detail, so get a stand-alone motormanagement, forged pistons, better bearings, calculated intercooler etcetera. I know myself well enough to forsee a budget being too small for what I would want   That's why I choose to stay N/A, it's easier to "max" it, didn't cost me much, could do everything with 200% confidence it's still reliable, and learned so much from it. Nothing's more satisfying then doing it yourself (well, apart from the lightening of the flywheel and the refurbisment of the head  )

Go on, just for a couple of photos. You can't tell me you aren't tempted to see what it looks like

Haha, of course I'm tempted, bu at the moment, the studs are lying behind me in my room, the centre's are in the attick, and the edges are in my garage, with the fresh tyres lying in the garage's attick

Not much to just "put under the car for just some snaps" :(

more photos petition!

just for a bit of info - 2000 miles is not a lot of miles for testing a new turbo, although a lot of respect for doing it and being able to do 2000 miles without issues.

Jarno, any news on the rolling road yet?

I'll make some next sunday, the first meeting the mk4 will attend is then, Polo Club Holland Meet&Greet, official kick-off for the mk4

About the rolling road, dunno yet, I'm satisfied about the performance first, second and third gear, but fourth and fifth are still a bit "easy-going" to my like, so kind of husseling with the idea of putting the item below on the engine:

Image

ITB's from a Honda CBR 900 RR, 4 throttle's with 4 injectors, so no carbs, but the injection is kept alive. Still working on the ideas for the motormanagement though, dunno if it will work on the existing management or if I need to buy one of those super expensive stand-alone ones :(

it should work as long as all your stuff thats needed to fit will fit
its a gamble you wont know till you do it
theoretically it should work alot better
but the main issue i think will be the fuel injectors and the fuel rail on the CBR kit as they r for a 900 arnt u running a 1.4 or 1.6
and also the motormanagment on the vw as its made by siemens
its soo adaptable when a new imos chip is inserted
i still use my turbo engine to its almost full power with the reprogramed
ECU and it was not expensive

I already know 99% sure it won't work straight off  why, I drive a single point injection system (Bosch Mono-Motronic, no Siemens), that only directs 1 injector, not 4, but bigger capacity chip could fix that. But then the next problem pops up, the resistance etc. of the injectors, I doubt Honda uses the same power etc. to direct it's injectors as VW. So a stand alone system is the best option, will save a sh*tload of trouble with the original ECU, then I can also set all the settings of injection and ignition myself, but will cost me much in total, so not sure on it yet :?

would u find it too hard to put in a mulitpoint injection system from another polo i dont know about over there but over here the single points are very rare and polo parts everywere quite cheep
and would it be main loom or just the engine loom
i dont know this yet as i havnt done anything with a VW loom before

and what do think of putting seat ibiza front end on a polo......
sub from engine and box breaks etc etc
what do u think about the engine mount situation
as its an idea i am plating witht he fit the 2.0l 16v engine into my polo as my next upgrade project
anyones views would b great
