Next on the list will be to get the front suspension bushes in, so will dismount the front carriers, drill out the old rubbers, and press in the new stiffer bushes from Bonrath


EDIT: oh, and I also ditched all the audio from the boot, already sold the subwoofer and amplifier, going for a different style with the car, and since I don't feel much for much bass and too loud music anymore, I got rid of the set, saves me a lot of weight in the car too

Well, did some work last week, front new reinforced bushings are in, as is the Eibach anti-roll bar

Old bushing out:



New Bonrath ones in:

I've got to admit, I like the effect, now have the Eibach anti-roll bars ont he front and rear, plus the bushings up front, and it really makes a difference!

Can't wait to install the Bonrath reinforced bushings on the rear-axle

Well Jarno, your car should be like a go kart now!! btw, impressive work.. i wish i'd have your "knowledge" about modifing the various part of the car!

@septic: already posted it up in the "meetings to come" section. Was really looking forward to coming, but since recently I'm chairman of the VW Polo Club Holland, and that weekend we already had other obligations planned for the Club-board, so I had to be present there (oh, and btw, it had a free BBQ to close the talkings and stuff, so there was a bright side of it all )

just spent about an hour reading this thread and the effort you've put into this project is phat, wasn't too keen when it was in the memory red with the skirts etc but this has really changed into a all out show car.

Well, also spotted that I haven't posted here in quit some time, that's because I really haven't done much to the car for quit some time
BUT... I do have a lot planned, which is gonna take -> quit some time

This winter I'm planning on:
-fitting my new electronically adjustable and heated mirrors
-fitting electronic windows
-fitting my mk5 GTI dashboard
-fitting the rest of my mk5 doorcards
-giving the doorcards a trim
-get the rooflining and A-, B- & C-pillars a new trim
-maybe some more newly trimmed details in the interior
-maybe some mroe details on the outside
-start working on my new engine
-get my air-ride set-up graded (new compressors, new tank, extra valves)
-and of course get my new set of rims/wheels done

To summarise it all, Jarno's gonna have a very busy winter this year, and the car is getting an all-over new look, again.

Don't know if many people are going to like the new style & mod's, but I'm definately sure it will be damn right original and living up to the Vdub-ideals, I'm already lovin' the new style as they are already in my head, hopefully you will all appreciate it too.

More deatils will show themselfs on pictures here when the time is right

Started ripping out the old dashboard today, also sold almost all the painted parts already today. The dash is now hanging in there on 2 bolts, gonna keep it in until I've made an appointment to get my arches rolled, and will take it out completely after that's done, now I can still look on my speedometer

What needs to be done exactly to carry this out, just for reference?

Yes, I'm going to install the climatronic system, what you'll need is the controlpanel, heating-unit, total airconditioning system, and all wiring etc.

Only problem with my system is that I don't have the airconditioning system, and am not going to put this in. So I will be able to control the climatronic, but can only electronically adjust the fan-speed and directions, not the temperature

It's gonna look like the real deal, but it's not completely

Well, haven't got a clue yet! Still am going to find that out when I get to fit it I'm probably bound to find some bumps along the Road of Conversion, but trying to minimize that, by using all original mk5 parts that are in the dash (literally, this is ALL from a mk5 GTI dash, except for the MFD/radio, but still trying to score me one of those MFD's too, love them!)
