Yeah ear defenders would be a start Rhys the sound deadening on the Type R is awful, its pretty loud standard to be honest so with any aftermarket exhaust it does get very loud inside, mine will only get louder too when I get my exhaust manifold fitted on the 26th
The Tegiwa Airbox makes a right racket too so I guess there is no winning lol

Yeah it does scare passers by doesnt get the looks that my Polo got but its a bit more fun to drive

Goes really well if you keep it in the right rev range, like any naturally aspirated car it does have plenty of flat spots so overtaking is more hassle than it would be in a turbo car but its great car to drive and really fun too I could listen to that K20 VTEC engine all day long.

Hoping for around 220bhp with the exhaust manifold fitted and the next stage will then be RBC Inlet Manifold, 70mm throttle body, K PRO ECU and a Re-map hoping to get 240-245bhp eventually which would be very nice indeed, rev limiter set at around 9,000rpm

Haha our neighbours hate us. Both cars are pretty noisy and the noise from the Impreza sets my car alarm off evey morning without fail at 6am

The Alarm on the Polo is dead sensitive, my boss always used to set if off when he came to work on his motorbike lol

Loud cars are safer though, people hear them coming when crossing the road Those electric cars are going to be death traps hehe

I had an old guy give me the middle finger once when I drove past in the Golf, all I I'd was accelerate to speed after stopping to give way. The dump valve made a noise and I guess the old guy thought I did it on purpose. I was well shocked as the car was completly standard at the time, and didn't at all expect to get that sort of reaction lol
