They are all different manufacturers. In fact some head units have been made by 2 different companies like the RCD510
Blaupunkt (until 2010)
Bosch (2010 onwards)
http://www.my-gti.com/3215/volkswagen-r ... ifications

There is a comprehensive list here
http://www.my-gti.com/719/differences-b ... he-rns-510

There was a lot of talk about the RCD310 being better (sound wise) than the RCD510 on the golfgti forum but I never noticed any difference going from rcd310...rcd510...rns510

The build in amp and filters are a little better in the upgrades.

I changed out my RCD310 with a RNS510. And it sounds a little bit better. Not much though,

Cheers all, I think I need to take my USB Pen down and have a listen :) Beyond that, what's the scope for upgrades? I'm guessing with an amp that accepts speaker level input, it would be possible to switch out speakers and drop a sub in the boot?

I'm currently sitting on 386 miles

I have gone from driving a Honda Civic Type-R Mugen200 which was drinking fuel so the MPG difference is very refreshing.

Very true, was paying just under the £300 mark a year on the CTR.

Hello!! I am a new member from Greece (maybe your first one) and i have read all the previous posts of this topic. By the way I found them very helpful.
I decided to buy a new car, so i after a little search i found polo blue GT and i knew that it must be my next car. Especially after reading your personal opinions i am sure that my choice is correct. But i would like to ask what is your opinion about the new facelifted blueGT? I kinda like better the interior of the last polo, especially the console! I must admit though, that the new MFSW is awesome!

I don't like the mismatch of colors on the vents in the faceliftet Polo.

This of course won't be a problem in the BlueGT as all the vents are gloss black in this model. :)
I personally like the current model steeringwheel. But I think I would like the new sat nav. and the new speedo. :)

And what about the +8 BHP? Do you think that this will have an impact on the fuel consumption? Also i ve read that the prices will be the same as the existing polo, but there is not any pricing info until today. Maybe in UK you know something more than here? In general, there is not much info about blueGT here in Greece. Here in Athens, i ve only seen one blueGT on the street. The majority goes for the TDI models.

I'd not be surprised to see official MPG figures better on the 150ps 2014 BlueGT but who knows, I can't see them dropping them officially as that would go against their general improvements across the Polo engine range.

I have a feeling that the figures might drop slightly... On the pictures from Geneva the Bluemotion badge on the back is now a Bluemotion Technology. So the mpg may have dropped a little bit... But more power is more fun anyway...
