It's been knocking this morning but tbh I can't be bothered taking it back to these cowboys I'm seriously considering trading it for a Mini Cooper S[/quote]
Same as me

I have managed to get a courtesy car for 2 days when mine goes in soon.
Raging the f\/ck out of it comes to mind

I'm taking it to them tomoro, and telling them to get it sorted!!

You should get some uprated bushes the VW one's seem to be weak and keep failing. I have powerflex one's on mine and had no problems, they tighten up the handling aswell

Sorry for the little side track of the post, but where did you get the powerflex bushes for the 9n from mate? i cant find any, they only go upto 2001

Another update....
I've had pretty much everything replaced on the front suspension now, my "local" (13 miles away) dealer have told me they've ran out of ideas and told me to take it somewhere else!!
So now i'm taking it to another dealer which is around 30ish miles away, if not more.
Thanks alot volkswagen!!

Update to my on going problems with the suspension.
Car went to VW today for a service and as part of there check up they noticed that the Anti-roll bar had SNAPPED!!

The mechanic said the bar could fall out and dig into the tarmac and flip the car
The car's still with them so I've got a lovely MK7 1.2 (why do they give out 1.2's when I gave them a 1.9??) and I will be £450 lighter this time tomorrow
All I can say is if you suspect you have the same problem with yours get it checked out ASAP

Is this on the front or back?
Well despite being a noise-free 9N for me, ive recently heard occasional knocks from the back and am wondering if i should be concerned.
They are random, aint noticed like its only when going over bumps or anything, but may well be something just in the boot

I think the ARB is at the front of the car. I get the occasional knock from the back I think it may be the spare wheel moving about I hope

I hope the back is my spare wheel too. My ARB is fine, but im having coilovers fitted within the next couple of days so am replacing most Suspension related bits just so my 9N goes back to being noise free

The new droplinks that I mentioned in a previous post of mine... dads car lasted 5 weeks with no knocking, although its only 1 or 2 random knocks heard now, nowhere near as often as before!
My dad is blaming the weather as well... the car seems less creaky in general during the summer months
Keep up the posts guys
