So we could get a decat without the need for a lambda probe boss thing?
In theory yeh, but then its just if your worried about emissions, if you've got a hole for a lambda you could just put one in for the MOT or something

what date was your car registered? Mine's a 91, so I think I'm alright with the emissions.

yeah you need to plug the lambda back in to get through the MOT emissions. cat or no cat.

the mot prior to me getting my current GT, it failed the pre cat emissions with a CO content of about 10% (4.5% is the limit) It wasnt till after I bought it that I discovered why - the purple lambda signal wire had snapped so there was no signal to the ECU. So yeah you definately need it for the emissions test.

Confirmation that drilling the airbox works!! I put 4 25mm holes in the bottom half of the box in the inner wing, and chopped off the part at the front where the warm/cold feed adapter plugs in. little bit of mesh to prevent leaves getting in there and its awsome! gives a good induction sound and it actually performs a bit better. Poloace I thought my ECU was the eprom type but it actually has the heatsink the same end as the plug.. will this make it cheaper to buy the chip??

I know it will run on standard maps without the sensor, but what about MPG and is it healthy for the engine? as ive noticed im in the petrol station way more often since i got the nz in. Although when i unplug my lambda when its running (only done it on the drive), it doesnt make the slightest difference to rpm (smooth with and without it!).. havent tried it when moving yet though. is there anyone in swansea on here with a timing gun? mine died!
its true, i run mine without, bearing in mind that it hates the winter without a lambda
