Started polishing up my rocker cover today (yesterday)

Called it a day as I need more coarse paper to get rid of the fooking black dotted pitting n that before I can go up a grade. All the raised parts along the top will be polished (VW badge and bars) along with the boost return collars and then everything else will be gloss black. Then I'll get a bodyshop to 2K lacquer it all for me

Will update again when I'm done!

Not many more expensive stuff will be happening this year as I need money for NYC at New Years with my mates! No complaints to be honest

UPDATE (today):

Nearly there!

And before I give the top another good polish and get a bodyshop to lacquer it up for me

This is my first polishing job and I'm pretty chuffed at how it's come out!

yep that does look good Del!! alot of people just leave the bay as it is and it just makes the car untidy in general!!
keep up the good work, as me bro said, can't wait to see it in the bay itself!!

Finished and back in the engine bay!

I ended up not getting it lacquered and will just have to put some metal polish on it and wax it everytime I clean the car. No biggy!

Came out pretty well. Got some other stuff needing tidied up too, namely TB, exhaust manifold etc

does bonnet insulation work, just because i was thinking about doing this, heard you can just get some from any car with it and just cut and stick to the polo.

mite help reduce the put put noise of my lil 1 litre lol

Not really.. or not that I have noticed to be honest. Helps keep the engine nice and warm when it's colder though, and for me it's another OEM tick!
