I've been busy today :D

I took my little brother to Bluewater. He spent like 2 hours looking for some new Converse's, and realised that he wanted some old-skool Adidas things. Then we had lunch at Yo! Sushi, where I had a tasty prawn yakisoba, and a couple of California rolls. After an hour of trying on the Adidas things, he decided that he wanted a pair of Converse's

I felt a bit down last night, so I had a few beers and watched some Garth Marenghi's Darkplace.

Didnt really want to post this as a new thread, and it is technically monday morning again....i figured we're all friends in this post so here goes lol...

Whats the speed limit (yes you heard correctly lol) when its like a dual carriage way, but not....

driving home from cornwall its like dually so 70 then single lane so 60 and it goes back and forth like that but then theres a bit where on your side theres 2 lanes and on tuver theres just one and theres no barrier in between like there is on a dually, anyways theres a speed camera there and i was over taking thinking it was a 70 zone so went past the camera at about 65....as there was a camera and didnt wana go over 70 seeing ive just got the liscence! but then i saw a blue 'dual carriage way ahead' sign and thought.....oh b****x i hope that wasnt a 60 zone :(

also is the 'your allowed to go 10% over' rule true in all cases?

you will be alright, generally your speedo is consistantly 5mph out...and its 10% le-way on a speed camera so 66mph..anyway you would know if it went off, they are damn bright and flash several times

I'm pretty sure its 70 no 60 unless stated....but don't quote me on it.

I thought it was 60 unless otherwise stated?

The 10% thing, well, the law has to be 10% + 1
and your car can be 10% in either direction (i think)

No your speedometer is generally set 5mph slower, imagine the problems if it read 70 and you got pulled for doing 75?

That would be set faster then...anyway there not set to anything they generally just loose accuracy at higher speeds - My speedo is correct (verified by GPS) with to 70.

The rule of thumb is 10% + 2 to counter balance speedo inaccuracy.

Haha, I get it

I think you're OK, if you didn't see the camera flash. Unless it was a front-facing one, for example a Truvelo.

I'd recommend getting a GPS speed camera detector, just in case.
