So the work begins. Here are some pics of the car, and the bits im working on atm :)

The car:

Image

It currently has no front end as the headlights are getting replaced with brand shiny new ones next week :) plus a bit of work is needed on the bumper paintwork

The leather:

Image

Its in perfect nick and check out the gleam....treated and cleaned it for a few hours the other day and well chuffed with the results :)

The rear handle:

ImageImage

It was all corroded, so I took it out and have primered it.

UPDATE: Now its got its first coat of shiny new flash red paint :)

Image

The Shark Fin Aerial:

Image

Another little mod, also in the process of being colour coded to the car

The G60 Calipers (and discs, but they are boxed up):

Image

The calipers are just getting sprayed up nice and red for when they get fitted mid august - looking big!

The spoiler (thats not there!):

Image

The spoiler had been stuck back on with sticky fixers, and it seems that where it came off, it hadnt been unbolted prior. Im still trying to work out how to get the bolts undone, but am currently not having much joy, so it will stay like this for a bit longer

The Monkey:

Image

It just had to be done!!

The new car looks awesome Alex 8)

You can't beat fresh red paint as well ;)

Also, I noticed the T25 in the background, who owns it?

Daddy :P Its a 1.9 Watercooled. Quite a beefy bugger.

I learnt to drive in it...unfortunately the clutch master cylinder went on it a few weeks back, so its stranded on the drive atm :(

Cool, so you're another member of the "Dads with T25's club" then, that makes 2 of us then

I think ours is a 1.9 aircooled or something. It's certainly strange to drive though, especially it being a left-hooker; although you have to bear in mind the length of the thing!

My rear boot handle needs to come out and be repainted, seems to be a common fault as the metal of the boot handle is different to that of the tailgate and reacts against it, or at least that is what I have been told...

Shark-fin will look good, mine is on but needs adjusting slightly to get it spot-on (skewed slightly to the left at the moment, enough to annoy me).

Cheers

I had my boot handle repainted in September, it's corroded again already. Someone told me its a reaction of the metal so only cure is to get rid of it

looks good matey, i hope you are using heat resistant paint on the calipers...things get a little hot down there..and the last thing you want is peeling...(recoating mine today or tomorrow)

Whens the soonest you will have it on the road? must be driving you bonkers!

Hammerite Direct to Rust - it looks heat resistant lol. It doesnt matter if it peels....ill just have them off and smother them in caliper paint

26th of August at 0800 hours it will be on the road. There is so much to do before I can do drive it!

UPDATE: Ordered the 6000k D2S bulbs and new LED sidelights earlier. Ordering up the new Xenon Headlights tomorrow with a selection of screws and bolts needed to get the front end up to scratch.

Just applied the lacquer to the aerial (first coat) so that will get another two coats, then a polish which should have it at an excellent standard :)

Its all starting to happen now!

Seems that rain is just about to happen....so I best go close the sunroof!
