Thanks, yep installed it over the past couple of days
So first off i had to drill out the rivetted stock speakers. I ran 16 awg wire from the amp in the boot to the doors and crimped on some push fit connectors for the component woofer.
Picture of the crimped connections to the crossover. No pictures of the tweeters installed.
Component speakers installed and doors insulated with silentcoat. Fantastic stuff for the price
Boot hatch insulated
Pair of amps under the false floor in the boot. The alpine amp runs my JL subwoofer and the JBL amp runs the components. The alpine amp was installed last summer.
So after 2 days of work and a sh*t load of cuts on my hands was it worth it? In a nutshell, yes

It sounds fantastic and after tidying up the wires everything looks stock

Great job Saty!
one question when installing your double din radio, did you need to install a new radio cage, or you just slide the head unit in, and popper the fascia around it?
Thanks !

I needed a new fascia, a cage comes with the double din unit to secure the headunit. The cage slides into the fascia and u push the metal prongs down to secure the cage. The headunit then slides in to the cage

Had the car remapped at VRT tuning, a dealer for more-bhp
Went from 90bhp to 145bhp and 230nm and 320nm
The remap highlighted on the drive home that the braking system really needs to be upgraded, better pads and brake fluid refresh is next on the list
VRT and more-bhp done a great job and the car pulls all the way to the red line

55bhp increase, that's brave. On standard internals? That's got to be pushing almost past it limits surely?

Not necessarily; the 90bhp is just a detuned version of the 1.6TDI 105bhp. So in a sense, for that engine it is a 40bhp increase, which is about right for a diesel.

It is quite a difference compared to stock, from what I was used to its silly fast. How do the numbers compare to ur bluegt with ur box?

As Lee said the CAYx engines are identical whether it's the 75, 90 or 105ps version. The 1.6 tdi engine is in a lot of vag group cars. 140-150bhp seems to be the norm Remap for the 1.6 tdi
I think there's another member wih a remapped 1.6 tdi on the forum running a similar amount of power.
The Remap is a tried and tested map from more-bhp and they've used it on a number of 1.6 tdis without problems
A dyno of a 1.6tdi a3 remapped by more-bhp:

The DTUK box takes power from 150 to about 180, so a 20% increase.

Jep running 145hp with only bigger airbox/intake duct. Was a cr105 but it is the same engine. Stock internals can take 200+hp but without some serious hardware 145 is the max you can get out of it.

Yeah mines been running fine for almost a year, tempted to do the CR177 turbo and supporting mods possibly in 2017.
Haven't updated in a while, I've fitted 312mm Discs and ATE Calipers, and also just fitted a 6C GTI rear bumper. I'll post a photo once the rear end is complete
