Hi Fatih,

I am going to fit the rain and light sensor to my seat ibiza 2010 Sport. First thing first, I want to be sure if my car BCM supports the sensor. Can I ask what is your BCM part number?

Many thanks,

Hi guys,

Sorry to bump such an old thread.

I am trying to fit the RLS and auto dimming mirrors and take pictures of the process. However, I am new to this and have ran into a bit of a problem.

I forgot to scan the car prior to starting and have this code.

OBDeleven data log

Before scanning I fitted a adaptor which remember whether the stop/start is left on or off, not sure if this could be causing the issue?

So far I have ran the RLS Pin 1 to the fuse box (Fuse 53), crimped both ground wires for the RLS and the dimming mirror to the ground for the interior lights and connected the RLS Pin 3 to the Anti theft interior sensor in the roof liner.

I've attached the pictures I have so far, I forgot to take pictures of the fuse box when it was out but can do this later.

Not sure if I have done something wrong, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Matthew

Not intending to be blunt or rude, but this is pretty useless from a diagnostic perspective.

No worries.

Sorry, I'm new to this and didn't know that the scan would be useless

I'll take the auto stop/start delete module out and see if that resolves it, if not I'll have a go at redoing the wiring.

Thanks for the quick response.

I think it might be more useful to paste the diagnostic info for the bcm

I pulled out the auto stop/start module. Definitely not that.

Thanks for the suggestion, though I'm a bit unsure what to paste. I have OBDELEVEN, do you need me to paste the bit from advanced identification in the control unit?

I don't know this tool. Probably needs some adjustment of the bcm coding.

Is there anyone who retrofitted the rain-light sensor and the automatic lights to his car (Polo 6c) successfully ?
If there is, please share the procedure and the parts you needed.

Hi Giannis,

Some people have fitter the RLS/Auto lights. However, I'm having a bit of trouble finding out how to best wire the dimming mirror.

You need the correct BCM and the ability to code it. Read the previous to see if your BCM is correct.

You also need:
- A windscreen with the bracket for the dimming mirror/rls.
- Electrochromic mirror 3G0 857 511E SMA - 1 pc.
- Covers, cable channels: 6C0 868 168A 9B9 - 1 pc., 6C0 868 438 9B9 - 1 pc., 6C0 858 548A 9B9 - 1 pc.
- Rain and light sensor: 5K7 955 559B

You also need to make a wiring harness, like this:

Light / rain sensor:
has 3 pins in the connector:
T3 / 1 - Power supply from the SC53 fuse
T3 / 2 - Ground
T3 / 3 - LIN bus, connected to a body roll sensor and an interior security system near the interior lighting cover, if your Polo is equipped with such an option, then in this case you just need to solder to the white-purple wire to the sensor, so I did.

Electrochromic mirror:
I found this from the 6R the fuses will be different
it has 4 pins in the connector, which is interesting, the mirror connector is 8 pin, and the diagrams everywhere indicate that the connector is 6 pin, however, the connection is similar:
T8 / 1 - Power supply (15 terminal, that is, plus from the ignition) from the fuse SB25
T8 / 2 - Ground
T8 / 3 - Control signal from reverse
Now the most interesting thing in the connector is still pin T8 / 6 and there is no information on it. By studying the circuits from other VAG models, it turned out that:
T8 / 6 - Control signal from the internal lighting dome. I understand that the mirror does not react when the doors are opened or when the ceiling is manually turned on.

Then you need to put it all together.

Thank you for the information my friend.
I searched a lot on the Web to find as much information as i can. I found the wire schematics, and other additional information.
To be honest i have started buying things for this retrofit. I already found the Mirror and the plastic covers (there are from IBIZA but i think there are going to fit just fine).
I haven't desided yet if i am going to change the windscreen, it is a tough decision for me, because i don't want to change the original one with some other brand-name windscreen. And it is not a cheap spare part. I am thinking of removing the old bracket and installing (glueing) the new one for the mirror with the sensor, but i am not sure that i am going to make it. I ordered the bracket (code part:4M0845543), and i am searcing information about the procedure. I found some pages on the www.drive2.ru site, a great site with a lot of information and some great guys how love retrofits.

No problem.

I am replacing my screen as it had a crack anyway but there is a way to mount the bracket to the origional screen. It requires sanding, glueing and painting. There is a guide somewhere on drive2 but can't seem to find it at the moment.

I have fit the RLS and coded everything, works as it should.

I have wired the majority of the auto dimming mirror, except for the wire that prevents the mirror from dimming whilst reversing. Does anyone know where this wire is located in a RHD polo 6c?

Thanks
