A - the bulbs aren't marked 80W
B - it would never happen anyway

They say never say never, but I'm pretty confident here.

Potentially even more of an insurance issue than 80W halogen bulbs then?
I mean, an assessor would spot LED bulbs long before he'd spot 80W halogens....

So...

Replaced the dipped with Philips Diamond Vision H7 5000K.

Full beam (not shown) are Philips White Vision H7 4200k.

Fogs shown below are Osram Cool Blue Intense H8.

Bump for this thread
Has anyone else fitted the Philips LED bulbs?
Tempted to fit them for dip and whiter halogen ones for main.

I fitted ‘Osram Night Breaker Laser Next Gen Upgrade Headlight Bulb Set’ that were recommended by engineers in my line of work over the Philips(National breakdown company). Very pleased with them and didn’t take too long to fit considering the cluster had to be removed. Fitted to low beam only as I didn’t see the point changing tire full beams as well. They were £27 and give a great result [emoji106]

I've got Philips 5000K bulbs at home, out of the Beats.
They give a white light to match the LED DRLs, but I still have a hankering towards the LED bulbs out of curiosity.
I've been looking at Chinese replacement headlights as well, but they look a bit naff (they do a 'light show' every time you switch on).
Ebay also has used VW LED headlights, but they are STUPID money!!! (easy £600 per side).

I'm running some HIDs in mine at the moment, but I'm ripping them out in the coming days. Just can't settle with them. Just nagging away in the back of my head. The diffuser in the reflector housing (which I don't see fitted on many cars) actually does a decent job with the HID bulb. Keeps the glare down, not much scatter. Pattern isn't too bad but I just can't live with myself being "illegal" if that makes sense. Thing is, it's an expensive mistake for me as taking the headlight units in/out I broke one of the clips. I used araldite epoxy to put it back together but I know it'll break again when I come to take the HIDs out... so I've just ordered two new headlight units. Ouch. Expensive day today.

However it does mean two things:

1. I'll be back normal with regards to legality. Bulb of choice for me is not style; I went for performance. So I have Philips Racing Vision coming for the low beam to give max distance coverage, and high I went with Philips Diamond Vision.
2. The current headlights are chipped and scuffed. Car is an ex-demo so it's been through the mill I guess. So the new units will at least mean nice and clear unmarked glass... every cloud silver lining.

I think the Racing Vision are only 3200k but 1700 lumens. So should be decent.

Urgh. I need a beer. :D

Philip's crystal vision ultra are the best bulbs by far I have tried most of the Phillips range. Perfect white light.

Got an email today from powerbulbs advertising new Philips RacingVision GT200‘s which Philips are advertising as their best performing bulb.

I’ve got the diamond visions in my dipped beam which I’m really happy with, give a really crisp almost blue look, and the now older Racing Visions in my main beam, might upgrade them to the GT200’s.

I can't see anything giving the K rating of these, can you?
I don't want to go back towards yellow.

Sure I seen 3500K somewhere. They go for performance over style.
