Yes you can, i used to own a rs2000...only thing with it was constant spending to keep it working. Thats why i prefer my slower more reliable volkswagen, It will run to the end of the earth and back.

stage3cossy wrote:Black smoke is unburnt fuel  , when you have a proper car, running proper power, it does stuff like that and antilag is far from a chav kit  Open your eyes people, more 2 life than just dubs.

If he was driving like an idiot I am suprised as he normally drives like he got miss daisy in the back  plus he had my son in the car

black smoke = unburnt fuel = poor combustian = inefficient engine

Hes a mechanic for vw dealers.

Keith murrays sport quattro does 0-60 in 2.2 seconds and not a black cloud in sight....whats he doing different?
the s1 ran upto 720bhp and the only time i saw black smoke there was when they ripped the bootlid off (oil cooler was in the rear spoiler) and it cost them a rally.

Different cars different ways of getting more power.

I am a time served mechanic for the laest 12 years i do know what im talking about.

I know cossies inside out i have had that many of them appart.

Mine was smokeing alot cos i had the anti lag on. that works by drastaically overfueling the engine to make the turbo spin up at low revs .turbo cars have no power without the turbo so anti lag is the way around it.

Anti lag is a rally car thing thats why they pop and bang when they back off whitch is what my car does. its realy harsh on the engine and turbo but i aint bothered when it goes bang i will just fix .

Hope that has cleared things ,ie black smoke. im more bothered about the blue smoke that comes out of it. my engine is tired not going to last much longer just waiting for it to go then i can build a proper 500 bhp lump!

It is a ford they do cost a fortune to keep going but i dont mind its only money and i think the escort cossie is one of the most respected car ever made. You lot may disagree but i have seen the thousands at tha ford shows that agree.

Each to there own i dont mind say what you like i aint bothered

Its a vw forum what you expect mate..lol

like you say each to their own..if it makes you happy then thats good for you, like the polo's make a lot of people on here happy.
If we all had the same car wouldn't life be boring.

Think this thread is well and truly tired out now..don't you :-)

Nah - Couple more posts and it'll be a sticky

No seriously some of us run "non" VW but that doesn't mean we are blinkered - I love my little polo for lots of reasons and it makes me happy......

I have a particular loathing of Fords but that doesn't mean I can appreciate a good one - it's just I wouldn't go looking to appreciate them on a Polo forum

Live and let live I say and if it floats your boat so be it....... If someone is running an "Escort Cosworth" kitted 1.8 diesel - good luck to em

*runs and hides till the LC is back on the road*
