Haven't looked into it too much about whether a GTi has many benefits over the standard one in terms of the conversion. Everything else won't make a difference however, I'll check it out!

Some pervy shop in my hometown Alex, or... ebay. Could be a good excuse for you to come down though, for only the haynes golf t shirt and mug - ha

Hey tim!
About your re trim, It looks awesome!
How would i go about doing that?
Just take piece by piece off, lightly sand, spray adhesive on the (for example) pillar, and stick on fabric, and done?
With spraying the seals, just take them off and spray? Or prime first?
With the tweeter grills, does the mesh come out so you can wrap the fabric around it? Fabric or spray?
With the roof lining, i have a sun roof, is it the same process?, just spray glue onto the original grey material and stick it over it?
Last question, if you could provide links the the paint, material, spray adhesive and primer (if needed) that would be ace!
Thanks.

Hiya mate, right.
Yeh I just removed all the parts I was going to trim and did them in a day. I wiped them clean first, sprayed them with adhesive and laid the black suede on and flattened middle to edges to reduce any bubbles. Cut tabs all around the edges and fold them underneath sticking them to the other side.
For the seals I removed them all, masked them all up with masking tape, then sprayed them with Halfords Satin Black paint. Layer this in light layers like you would anything else. It'll take about 2 500ml cans to get it perfect, no primer.
Yes you can remove the mesh grills to wrap the fabric behind. Do this bit using the same method as any other part. I then sprayed the grills with Halfords grey primer, stain black, and clear laquer.
Yeh the roof will be the same process. You'd just have to cut the hole for the sunroof after you have stuck it down.
Links:
suede - You'll need 3 lengths of this.
adhesive - You may or may not need 2 of these.
Black Spray - You'll probably need 2 do to all seals and tweeter grills.
Grey Primer for tweeter grill - You only need a small amount of this, you can probably get it cheaper elsewhere. I already had this stuff, which is why I used it.
Clear Laquer - Again same as primer, you don't need much and can prob get cheaper better stuff elsewhere, I just had it lying around already.
Any problems, give me a shout mate.

Tim! Don't give out our secrets!!! Haha only joking, this interior mod is brilliant and well worth doing, i'm having a great time retrimming mine, just something you can sit down and do without going to too much effort
