Yeah it's a write laugh, I just drift it everywhere in this rain where having and that.... Need more power in it now though hehe. Next is exhaust and a custom air filter with a remap and re-jet...! Crazy.....!

That body needs to open and close and be bigger so on that note, it's doing it's job... Looks very good quality and the manifold will be amazing.

Going to an endless horizon meet at south mimms services Sunday it's all hondas and is an amazing meet. Like a mini show.... Should come down ha

Sounds quality mate, what power is she running at the moment? I bet the power to weight ratio is already pretty savage
You will have to get some vids up soon, deffo worth investing in one of those Go Pro camera's, I mount mine on the front bumper and the quality is still really good

Yeah the throttle body should do the job nicely, it probably wont give me any big power gains but I should to see 5-6 mid range and maybe 3-4 overall so it's just about worth doing :)

Iye everybody is talking about the south mimms meet on the type r forums, sounds really good but it's a bit too far away from me.
Typical that all the good shows are normally down south lol I think i'll have to move

Car visited TDI North power tuning yesterday for some more work

It's had the RBC Inlet Manifold fitted, S90 70mm throttle body and Hondata K100 ECU :)

Here is my Dyno graph
Image

Uploaded with ImageShack.us
The Sports CAT is literally killing my torque and restricting the power too.
Apparently without the CAT it and a more free flowing B-Pipe it would have pulled close to 250bhp and over 170 ft lbs of torque.

VTEC has been lowered to 5200rpm and revs all the way to 8800rpm 8)
Launch control is now active so I can bounce off the limiter at 4K and launch really smoothly  its great fun

I'm really pleased it broke the 240 mark and its still fully road legal which is cool so I wont have any MOT issues etc.
I will seriously consider Toda cams as the next power upgrade though to get it well over 250bhp but that wont happen anytime soon

Awesome stuff mate, impressive figures, must be very fun drive!

It's hard to gauge scene to scene what modifications are 'the norm' and what makes one stand out.

Is it common to run a CTR to this power? Much like its common to be running 200bhp on a fabia with hybrid turbo. Or is this fairly high spec?

Cheers Tim :D yeah very fun to drive mate, although with it being N/A it can be tiresom at times due to the small power band

Yeah you're right there is a vast difference in modifications from the Honda scene to the VAG Scene, it's strange because the Honda scene is a little different from most Japanese cars due to them being naturally aspirated with the likes of Subaru, Mitsubishi & Nissan it's all about bigger turbo's, FMIC's etc whereas the N/A Honda's struggle to make to big power unless you go down the route of turbos or superchargers.

It is quiet common to get CTR's pushing 240bhp however most people are normally happy with around 220 and a lot don’t bother with mapping they just stick to an exhaust & induction kit. The good thing about the Civic's is the standard airbox, exhaust, inlet & exhaust manifolds are very restrictive so by changing them you get really good gains, certainly more than you would expect from a N/A engine.

You can achieve over 10bhp by fitting an induction kit which is pretty impressive and when you couple that with an exhaust & manifold you’re looking at gains of up to 25bhp over the stock 197. I personally think getting it mapped is essential though because although it doesn’t give huge top end gains the mid range torque is massively improved (up to 35 ft lbs) so it's certainly worthwhile. The downside to owning a Civic and Jap cars in general is the parts are very expensive so sourcing second hand parts is always worthwhile.

Lol! Gotta love VTEC Power mate

Wise choice with the S2000 although an Integra would be equally good
240BHP RWD stock is mental, they are crazy little machines :) there was one at TDI north when I was getting mine mapped running 700bhp on stock internals lol
The S2000 has forged internals so can handle over 600bhp easy 8)

Ha, well for the money of a decent dc5 on say a 2001 plate is like £7500 and for a 2005/7 s2000 it's the same so makes sense to get the S.

700bhp is stupid lol! Il only be doing the odd 500..... : p.bet your stocked with pushing 240bhp. I was happy with over 145bhp lol.! Not jel much.........

Yeah the DC5's a really expensive to be fair which is a shame, great cars though but the S2000 would be good buy for you

What colour S2000 are you going after mate? The guys at TDI north were basically saying that the S2K is an absolute masterpiece from Honda, perfectly balanced sportscar with probably the best engine they have ever made, that F22C1 engine found in the later AP2 S2K's is epic!

Yeah i'm made up with 240+ brake but I know its never going to be enough  No doubt Toda A3 Cams will be added at some point lol 8)

Cheers Matt :) yeah really pleased to be pushing over 240bhp
Bit of shame the torque was not higher but that's just the CAT killing it :(

I would consider a de-cat in the future but I would have to do something about the noise levels first because the car is already too loud now.
I'm thinking of getting a silenced centre section and possibly an exhaust bung for long journeys because although it sounds amazing in the high revs on a motorway run the exhaust drone just echo's through the whole car  Running a De-cat would see me push close to 250bhp and over 170 ft lbs of torque

I told you to drop a K20 in the MK1 mate

Still not totally satisfied though, TDI North have just produced some Stage 2 camshafts so I can see myself getting them at some point
The brakes need to be upgraded next I think but that wont happen for a while yet, everything is so god damn expensive for cars these days
