One other question, anyone else hearing some beeping coming from the engine compartment right after stopping? What is it?

Turned ESC into sport mode just a few moments ago, had some fun in some wet roundabouts :D
The chassis does in fact communicate with the driver fairly well in this mode. And the rear can be moved if you work hard on it.
With all the electronic aids on it just feels so neutral.

Everyone I've showed it to loves it. I love the looks on peoples faces when I'm going 80kph in sixt and drop down to fourth and floor it.

I have yet to try the note trick :D Put a tenner on the passenger side's dashboard and accelerate to 100 as fast as you can, the passenger has to try to grab the note before you get to that speed (that's 60mph)

Anyone managed to set up auto locking / anti hijack on the car or is this just doable through a vcds change?

You can change it in the Radio settings, with the ignition key on. :)

Have you actually done this, I ask because I've been through the settings and couldn't find an option for this, could only find an option for the central locking, one door or all doors.

If you have actually changed the setting any chance you could give specific steps?

Sure !

Press the "car" button.
On the bottom right of the screen press the adjustments/settings.
Its the sixth item that appears on the screen - door lock/unlock.

If you have any difficulty finding the menu I can publish pictures to help you. :)

Just picked up my GTI and had a good 50 mile drive home and I'm amazed, even better than expected, such an easy car to drive yet so fun! Il post some pics tomorrow if the weathers brightens up but for those still waiting it's well worth it!

Thanks, I'll try again, but I thought that was for how you wanted the central locking to react to the remote.

Hi all, just got back from a dealer and have ordered a 5dr DSG in Solid Black, only options were convenience pack and sport performance pack plus free light and sight apparently.
Really happy, car just left me laughing like a loon on the test drive, it is soooooo much fun, just got the long wait now but it will be worth it.

Hey guys, new to forum and VW!

Just got a 15 Polo GTI 5dr in white. I have had heaps of cars in the past most of which being hot hatches. My last car was a BMW M235i so this is a bit of a downgrade, but not as much as I expected. I recently got a ducati monster so no longer felt the need to keep the BMW as it was quite expensive. It was a great car but it had the 8 speed auto, it was a great box but I really did miss having a manual so great to be back in one.

Haven't done much miles in the polo but it is great fun to be back in a hot hatch and to be honest the quality of the interior etc is not far off the BMW which was a nice surprise. It could do with a bit more grunt though, waiting to see what revo are coming up with as they currently have one under development. Is there any other remaps or other performance parts out for this car yet as I am really struggling to find stuff!

I've had a look around and there isn't much available for the polo at the moment.

I'm going to give mine a year first to iron out any bugs/faults before I start voiding warranties lol
