I've got some brembos for sale if you want them
I almost got a 8p s3! I'm in the same boat as you, I'm nearly 21 and was looking at these. They are lovely cars

but I decided to get something else as the insurance wasnt as bad as I expected
And junior, you shouldn't have a problem getting it featured

it's stunning and so unique! Good luck with the rest of the build.

Oh

it'll be a long wait ha. But it'll be worth it and the cars will be cheaper as there should be a new s3 out before then.
Could you email me on
[email protected] please as my pm doesn't work. I've still got outgoing messages from a month ago :/ so it'll be easier to talk on there cheers!

Been a little slack on the updates due to waiting for dates to come round but the time has finally come and car went off on Saturday for the bay to be painted
On the tow truck
Went down last night to remove the BBS and will pop back Saturday for some update pics.
Engine has now been put back together with upgraded head. Although as with everything I do to the car this was not a smooth transaction.
I had the head checked over and there were many issues
Cams showing wear due to oil starvation
Various lifters were past it
All valves were not sealing due to not being seated correctly when originally put together.
Also while I was at it I checked how the block and there were scores in the bores due to grit from when the intake from when it was sand blasted and powder coated so got the following
Another block
Had the new block bored
all new bearings, head bolts and head gasket etc
So basically have a whole new engine ready to go in. Have bolted most of the bits to it so will get new pics but here are a few before

Big respect for you level of commitment and investment for things to be done correctly, any chance of getting some money back from the bad workmanship? How come you left the BBS's on for painting?

Head was purchased 2nd hand so just one of those things.
Lesson I keep learning is buy new and have it done once.
Regarding the inlet I blame myself for not cleaning it out properly so again expensive lesson learnt.
As for leaving the BBS on I didn't have any other wheels around me at the time.
But a mate lent me some wheels so took them off last night.

Just read all the way through this build from the very start what a amazing machine it's nice to see you have carried on with the build even after all the set backs you have had and the interior is just amazing brilliant job! I am looking at the moment for a 9n3 GTI my self I want a completely standard one so I can put my own mark on it I only have 2 questions and thought you would be the man to ask 1. Which system is the best for power wise a sports cat or just a straight threw turbo back? I will be getting miltek obviously 2. What is the best bov to get I want a really load dump noise not a recirculating one? Thanks

All the very best with your one and thanks for your comments.
Answers to your questions would be
1. Power wise - de cat as there is less flow restriction.
2. Forge 007 or 008 or APR R1

Thanks for the advice think I will go with the decat then

but as for the bov from what I have seen the 007p doesn't seem that loud of a dump and I can't seem to find the other 2 for sale any where? And sorry one more question mate the filter in the box with the pd intake is this a straight forward fit or do you need the silicone intake pipe aswel? Thanks in advance

You are not going to achieve the noise you are looking for because you can't vent o atmosphere.
The best you can do is run a cone filter off your air MAF and run any of the above BOV's I mentioned.

Cone in the Oz is easy to do and yes you will require a 90 degree silicone hose from the MAF to the filter.
If I'm right in what you're asking no you done have to have the forge turbo intake pipe to do a cone in the box but it all helps in the quest for more power.
