Re: Using Oil!
Not a good new...
One forum user in Italy had a good result on his first 1000Km: 0.2 liter instead of the usual 0.5liter... http://www.polovw.it/foro/viewtopic.php ... 84#p567676
I can't say how they measured it...

Re: Using Oil!
Don't like the sound of that buddy, did they do an ECU update as well? When you say down on power, is this very noticeable? I would take it back again and express you dissatisfaction.tt509 wrote:about 600 miles mate and it seems to be down power two sine the the so call fixskipster wrote:Oh - still burning oil? I am due to get this fix soon so this is of big interest to me. Has the oil consumption reduced at all?

Re: Using Oil!
There is an ECU update along with the fix. My dealer phoned me to ask if the car was remapped because this update would wipe the map.skipster wrote:Don't like the sound of that buddy, did they do an ECU update as well? Re: Using Oil!
No not had a map on my car as I didn't want to mess with the warranty with the oil consumption. Anyway got my car back yesterday with the oil fix and my new radiator
Re: Using Oil!
Nice one! I should be getting the fix in early October.stuart.cameron wrote:No not had a map on my car as I didn't want to mess with the warranty with the oil consumption. Anyway got my car back yesterday with the oil fix and my new radiator
Re: Using Oil!
Another good result (the second till now) after pipe changing: in the first 1.000Km oil level unchanged...
VWPolo Italy
IMHO anyway it is too early to declare victory...

Yes - I think we need to give it a few 1000 miles/km before we can say for sure that this has cured this long outstanding issue.
Re: Using Oil!
Well, I hope it fixes it, mine is an older spec CAVE241... engine, but I believe the CAVE261 is simply the same engine with the newer piston rings - which I have had fitted anyway.
