Yea its pouring down and the roads are filthy, so now so is the Gti
First drive though was great , totally different to the other polo i had.. i enjoyed that though.
One thing pointed out to me by a friend is the gap around the doors, never noticed it before.

Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences
Anyone ever knock the gear stick into manual mode accidentally? I keep hearing this horrible noise and wondering why I’m going so slow only to notice I’ve knocked it to the side and I’m revving hard in low gear.
Also at low speeds I can hear squeaky suspension. It’s pretty bad. Sounds like I’m driving a wooden boat.
Other than that I’m really happy with the car.
First thing I did when I got it was get Opti-Coat, suntek darkest tint and put 303 throughout interior.

I never knock it into manual by accident, but mine does suffer from the wooden boat creaking sound too. At slow speeds over bumps

Sorted, and edited
Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences
I occasionally have the noise too. Never accidentally hit it to manual though.

I got new bumpstops and top mount bearings on the front end of the car under warranty to eliminate a creaky/squeaky rattle. Never unintentionally knocked the gearstick into manual mode.New-gti-guy wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2019 7:54 pm I never knock it into manual by accident, but mine does suffer from the wooden boat creaking sound too. I've got a number of rattles in my new Polo. Drivers door and around speaker area. You can hear it even with music on
Also, I had to get the trim panel replaced (due to ambient light strip had some failed LEDs) and since then, there is a rattle on passenger side by air vent

Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences
There’s a good chance that interior creaks and rattles will be more likely during the colder months, when the interior plastic trim panels are less flexible. Also, there’s always a risk that other creaks and rattles will happen if interior trim is removed by the dealer, and based on discussions on various forums in the past, they might damage the interior trim and then deny causing the damage!monty831 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2019 7:10 am I've got a number of rattles in my new Polo. Quite a few members on other VAG forums have bought themselves a set of trim removal tools and some self adhesive foam strips and tackled interior creaks and rattled themselves. If my car suffered from unwanted interior noises, I’d seriously consider sorting them myself, rather than let the dealer tear out the interior of my car, and possibly make the situation worse.
Re: GTI and GTI plus owners experiences
I’m finding that the infotainment system occasionally picks up my mobile phone as I get in the car and goes into dial/call mode and locks up trying to call “my mobile” for no reason. The only way to stop it is to power off the phone. Once the connection is broken I can power up the phone and it will reconnect as normal

One problem i have, the Mode button keeps getting stuck down when i press it, Dont fancy the dealer stripping the dash area to sort it, any easy fixes ?
