That's nasty! :-( bet you was livid when come back to the car :-(

Least you've managed to sort it out apart from the glass

It winds me up when things like this happen! People spend thousands on their cars and then this happens :-( other people more not care for a wingmirror but we do!

They probably didn't think nothing of it :-(

Yeah it was a lady delivery driver in her rover 25 price of crap.

She stopped and blamed me unbelievably when I was pretty much doing 2mph, country road narrow part I always slow fo but she never! Here mirror was broke big time, even on the inside hers was broke. Big time bang! She didn't understand it would cost less than £20 quid to fix but still went to her insurance then she found out it would cost her the excess and I haven't heard from her since lol!

I need to ring up Vw for the stubby mirror glass with the heated ring not just the glass. Sucks but I do have the tinyiest crack in the cover though. But so can't see once polished!

Cheers for the comments!

Maybe a nice excuse for blue mirror glasses? Part numbers (left and right, stubby's):
links: 1J2 857 521 B
rechts: 1J1 857 522 E
These are from a MK4 Golf, you only have to extend the wires a little bit apparantley.

So I need the two blue glass parts left and right. And two of the dimming black packs that fit behind the mirror glass and no running new wires?

This genuine fibre though, was really a hard part to do.

That's a nice mod that, I copied it from another guy on here.

Would love a real carbon one.

3 piece wheels are to common now, I'm the only one with my wheels, at shows people are like what are they, I still don't know what they are ha!

Cheers bro!

Gutted about the mirror fella, hopefully you can get some replacement glass ASAP!

I had a near miss the other day, must have been a couple of mm away but I was expecting to see the mirror smash to pieces.

What plans have you got for the GTI this year then mate? You keeping it another 12 months or are you still in love with the Honda S2000?

S2000 Plans are on hold for maybe a year or more or even longer as it will be a shame to sell her now to someone else as iv just finished it lol!

I'm hona do some smoothing like iv bought a completely smooth boot of club polo a proper all welded one in White, il spray that and fit new glass so it's all fresh. I'm gona smooth my front rub strip and loose the front plate. New coilovers th adjustable ap ones at £700 quid : ( ha! As mine are locked out and I want more lows. And then just little jiggles when they pop up......

Nothing crazy as it's all done really..... Unsure on what else can be done without going ott.!

Maybe more engine stuffs but I will see!

Is there a boot popper thread on here I'm a tad scared of doing it tbh lol!

Nice plans mate :) your best keeping it in fairness, the market value of a Polo GTI is scary at the moment

Yours is priceless tbh, you wont find a better one so you might as well take it as many shows as possible

Look forward to seeing what else you do to it this year
