cheers
olly
Happy to chat over a beer but I expect Bradford to Essex is a long drive lol
Can you actually see any water on the ground?
Does your heater blow hot air?
Does your fan cut in?
Does the temp gauge go over half way?
If not a common place for water to leak from is the bottom right hand side of the rad.
If this all looks to be in order it could be that you have an air lock in the system.
As water system is pressured when you remove the cap the water level will rise.
To get rid of the air lock I run the car from cold with the cap off till the water reaches half way then close the cap and wait for the fan to cut in. If the fan doesn't come in and temp goes over half way I turn it off leave for 30 mins then take cap off put more water in and run again with cap off till half way or water starts to rise up in the bottle before closing the cap and this usually sorts it.
thank you for the responce and yeah tbf essex is a drive lol to answer your questions
Can you actually see any water on the ground? NO
Does your heater blow hot air? YES
Does your fan cut in? Notsure i have heard it before but prior to problem
Does the temp gauge go over half way ? no if anything it stays at 88-89 were as when i got it it was 90 witch is optimum temp were it should be ?
it hasnt over heated at all may be due to the cold weather now iv also be told to check heater matrix hoses at the back of the block ?
also starts lumpy when hot like on 3 cylinders after a few seconds clears and its fine really strange could that be due to the above problem or somthing eles they joys lol
cheers again mate appreciate it

There are 2 hose going into the bulk head these are the heater hoses. Check both are hot in-out.
As for lumpy star from cold this will be plugs. If you Change/clean them this will stop. It's more noticeable on mapped GTIs so don't use stock spark plugs use RS2 or, NGK

the fan dose work but its too cold this time of year for it to cut in it just stays at 90 dosnt go over so fan wont kick in will it ?
sorry for sounding abit dumb lol im checking the hoses tnyt n also the lumpy starts mainly when its hot it starts rough i had it serived not so long since and it did it before i got it servicedso was hoping the spark plugs wa foooked but it appeared not : / unless hes used the wrong plugs will double check tnyt what plugs you runing ?

Re: Black Polo GTI 6 Speed. Now 390 BHP. Update page 57
So went to Badger5 yesterday to tweak the map to take in to account the new flowed head and up the boost.
I wanted to do a run to find out the improvement with the flowed head so after a run on the dyno it came out at 329.6bhp which was an improvement of 9.4 BHP. However after looking into it we found it was only producing 20psi of boost although it was previously mapped to 22psi and taking an extra 1000 rpm to run up to full boost even though it was the same map from my previous session.
After a bit of logging checking around we noticed the waste gate was cracked open as there wasn't enough tension on the actuator arm. So I rectified this and Bill started the mapping.
I walked out a very happy man with 389.3 BHP @ 6922rpm (335.5bhp at the wheels), 315 lbft @ 6106rpm and this was set at just under 26psi of boost.
Here are a couple of videos
The first run

I didn't get the final run but this was one just before at 388bhp

And a couple pics of the graphs.
All I can say is this car is an absolute animal and scary fast to drive and I love it
