That's terrible gaz, I ordered late April and it was built last week! I'd be asking for some sort of compensation mate!Gaz W wrote:Gutted, my dealer have advised me my car has been delayed AGAIN so now gone from original estimate build week 26 (this week) to build week 36. Not a happy bunny, looks like its going to be mid-late September for a car I ordered in April.

Re: New GTI
I think they're taking the mickey here. I'd write to VW UK with your order number and ask what is going on - doesn't sound correct to me.Franklinavfc888 wrote:That's terrible gaz, I ordered late April and it was built last week! What is the reason for the delay?Gaz W wrote:Gutted, my dealer have advised me my car has been delayed AGAIN so now gone from original estimate build week 26 (this week) to build week 36. Not a happy bunny, looks like its going to be mid-late September for a car I ordered in April.

Re: New GTI
Its a poor show I think. As I ordered in Feb and still no build date I'm at the point that if its put back even more I'll be looking to cancel it and get my deposit back for the hassle
Re: New GTI
I'm late to the party but have been tracking this thread for some time. I ordered my GTI back in the second week of April and I still don't have a build date.
I was orignally 'quoted' build week 25 which evidently proved not to be the case. Getting very frustrated with the wait having been told maximum 12 weeks to delivery.

Re: New GTI
Got an email this morning saying my car has arrived in the UK. Not long now!
Re: New GTI
I can't believe how some of you have been treated regarding delivery info and dates, very poor from VW/dealers.
I ordered mine 1st week in May and have been told it's currently in transit. Should be at dealers last week of July. So a total of 12 weeks all going well.
Seems to be huge variation in delivery times.

How did you order yours Andy? Through a dealer or a website?Andy4791 wrote:Its a poor show I think. As I ordered in Feb and still no build date I'm at the point that if its put back even more I'll be looking to cancel it and get my deposit back for the hassle
Re: New GTI
Mine was ordered only 6 weeks ago and I have a build date for early August. What did the people who seem to be having massive delays order in terms of spec?
Re: New GTI
I don't have an issue with communication/information with the dealer, my contact at my retailer has kept me up to date and been in contact regularly and is fantastic, but he simply can't give me a confirmed build date/week.
When I ordered back in April I was told 8-12 weeks, with a build week estimate of 26 that was 'likely' to be pulled forward.
Mine is a 3 Door DSG, apparently DSG models are the problem and they are delayed.
Spec:
1.8 TSI GTI 3 DOOR DSG
Reflex Silver
Sports Performance Kit
Discover Nav
Winter Pack
Park Pack (One with everything, cruise, camera etc)
I'm in a position where keeping my current car is going to cost me money as hadn't planned to keep it this long so not best pleased, may speak to VW directly and see what they can do as this is getting a bit silly now.

Re: New GTI
Wow…some mega delays!!! I ordered mine early April and got it last week. I think the wait time had just gone from 15 weeks to 12 weeks…mine ended up arriving in just under 11 weeks I believe.
Spec = 5 door. Manual. White. Sunroof and armrest.
For those who are experiencing delays, I'd definitely kick up a stink…bound to get something back.

Re: New GTI
Does seem to be huge variations in order/delivery time!
The reality is though i'm not particularly interested in freebies or discounts or whatever they have to offer as an apology, I want my new car!
