I covered it over with cloths. The cloths mustve got damp, or had something on them

Basically the paint has bubbled underneath the lacquer - and i mean, even a PC cant touch it its that deep.

As the car is varying different reds, a full respray will be a treat, plus the smoothing. Oh it makes my smile endlessly like a cheshire cat lol

UPDATE: So today more progression was made :)

I fitted the shark fin aerial now its finished. Im very pleased with it, even though the reception on it is crap - it looks nice :P I need to fiddle with the aerial cable on it to improve the signal a little lol!

Image

The spoiler is now fixed, but its a temporary job as I cant seem to get it to mount correctly at the moment - a new spoiler should be about soon to sort this one out

Image

I took the Passat Estate rear aero wiper off the GT1 and moved it onto the GTI to finish the rear off (until its smoothed anyhow!)

Image

And finally, here is a pic of the lovely ultra bright LED interior light - it even dims down automatically...cool 8)

Image

The plan this week is to get the smoothing and respray all booked in, and to get the new spoiler. All the new bits ordered should arrive thursday, so I can start to assemble the HIDs for their refit when the body work is complete

Im also going to get hold of a new clutch for it, so will arrange fitting.

Completion is looking to be the first or second week in August :D

UPDATE:

Well the auxilliary drivebelt is two inches to short, so that needs to be exchanged tomorrow.

I had a bash at attempting to fit the G60 brake setup, but to no avail. It appears the carrier bolts have been air locked in place, so I cant undo them as I dont have compressed air - its a bloody joke!

Anyway, I just ordered some of these beauties:

LED side repeaters - something a little different, that will hopefully have a tasty little look to it.

Also ordered a Foliatec Red brake caliper paint kit, so I can get the calipers and carriers a lovely shiny red :D

The carrier bolts are always a pain to undo in my experience Alex, give them a good liberal spray with WD40, leave for a day, then another spray and re-attempt. Use a hammer on the end of the rachet if neccessary!
