How to remove the air bag?
Pushed the metal clip down but my air bag won't pop out. both clips can be pushed down and you expect the airbag to come out . Nothing happens in my case.Any ideas?

I had the exact same problem last week to install CCS. What made it work for me was using a flat-head screwdriver to pry the spring down and then wiggling the airbag out from the bottom side of the wheel. Try that, It worked for me!
Hi gpeixoto109
I have no problem in pushing the clip down . The problem is the air bag is not coming off. I tried wiggling it.Nothing happened apart from getting pain in my fingers.
I'll try to push it from the bottom as per your suggestion tomorrow.Wish me luck.

I understand your problem, firstly I was having the same problem, I pushed the clip down at the same time pulling the airbag towards me but it won't come off, but then tried to push from the bottom of the airbag while pushing the clips down and the airbag come off.
Good luck with it, hope you can do it by doing that! :)

Many Thanks gpeixoto109 ,Ciclo and many more who wrote on the cruise control thread.
Finally I managed to install the CC stalk and all working well. :D :D :D
Getting to BCM connector is the worst part.

I have error with streeing angle sensor and Traction control.Dashboard looks like a christmas tree.
I think , I need to swap the to the original and clear allcodes.

You're welcome, sendoc!
Have you changed the stering ring too? Or the stalks only? If you changed the ring too try to install the old ring with the new stalks.

Thanks Mate.I just installed the stalk. I didn't change it to the old ring.Is it a must to change the ring as well or can it be sorted out by VCDS?

Are you sure that the ring is in a good position?
Do you install stalks when wheels were straight?

I have streering , Trction and Tyre pressure warning lights lit.
The cruise control itself woks fine.

Try with the old ring.
The traction and tyre pression warning lights lit with me also, but I cleared the errors, and when I was testing the CCS they disappeared.

Changed the ring to the old one.All errors gone. No warning lights in dashboard.Cruise control works fine. :D :D
The new ring did not have the second connector which I think is for the ESC (traction, TPMS)

Thanks everyone.

Just a write up of the difficulties I encountered whilst installing CC.

The air bag won't pop out inspite of the clip beeing pushed down. As gpeixoto109 suggested push the air bag in the gap.I used a towel and flat screw driver.
The second time around airbag was popping out easily.

If you have ESP/ESC in your car, make sures your airbag slip ring has the appropriate connector.
If you are changing slip ring , be gentle with plastic tabs whilst removing and installing.
Also make sure the turn signal lever is in the middle. If up or down , there is a small white plastic tab which pops into the center. You might break it, if not careful.

Make sure all pins seated correctly and you will hear a click when seated correctly.

BCM connector is difficult to access. I removed the driver seat and was able to lie down confortablly to work.
It will be easy to BCM split the connector,if you cut the tape for about 1-2 cms.

The easiest way to route the ECU wire is to push through the rubber bung for clutch pedal(mine is automatic and so there is no pedal)

Hope this helps.
