Still no SMS my end, so guessing it wasn't on the glovis spirit then, this is doing my nut in! For the people who did get 5bs, when did you get your 5as?

I ordered mine Father’s Day, the ship left port on 1/7 and I never got a 5a text it just changed one day on the tracker.

Mine was built in March and I ordered a car already in the system. I haven’t found a secret shortcut!

I’ve had an update.

Ship: Glovis Century
Date left: 21st July
From: South Africa

Expected to reach Germany on 16th August. Anybody reckon they’re on the same ship?

How long does it take to go from Germany to being ready at the dealership? I’m eager now

I think I could be on this or Glovis Star. If you got one, what date did you get your 5A notification?

I never received an email or checked on the app (the app doesn’t work for me). The dealership were going to contact me today on the whereabouts of the car however, I checked on the VW website through Live Chat and they happily updated me on the location of the car right this minute.

I’m not sure about Glovis Star but the ship my car is on is the Glovis Century and it departed from South Africa on the 21st July.

I am also on this ship! I got told that it was expected emden on the 10th August though!

We shall see what happens.

Good news all. I’ve not had 5b yet but when I asked dealer for tracking details of the ship to Emden he said he couldn’t do this which is strange and VW customer service bounced me back to the dealer????

Anyone know the typical ships that go from emden to Grimsby?

@Ima that is clearly untrue what your dealer is telling you as we all managed to get our ships. They should at least give you the order number so you can track it. The website tracker is better than the app.

Usually its City of Rotterdam and then another of the "Highway" named ships. They seem to use those on an ad-hoc basis and City of Rotterdam doesn't always do a shuttle run back and forth to emden.

Ships you need to watch are
City of Rotterdam
City of StPetersburg
Ems Highway
Main Highway
Neckar Highway
Isar Highway
Schelde Highway
Weser Highway

Even better if it’s the 10th August, either way, the earlier in September for the delivery of the car the better! As long as it’s ready for the new plate I will be over the moon

Yeah I am putting a personalised plate on it but I don’t mind waiting till 1st sep for the 70 anyway!

Tyne is a bit of a weird one, the boats aren't as frequent as those to Grimsby but they are from the same pool of boats I posted earlier. Sometimes a boat will go direct to Tyne from Emden, sometimes the boat will got to Tyne after dropping off at Grimsby first.

Yes that will be Sheerness, which makes ship tracking much easier, its the Malacca Highway and all it does is go back and forth from Emden, alternating from the VW and Audi areas of Emden each time
