Hello, sorry to chip in, if one has a confirmation from Dealer stating the car is finished at the factory VIN assigned, how long roughly would it take for the car to arrive on UK soil? (from a lovely trip from ZA)
Ran my searches, and got something like 6-8 weeks. Can anyone confirm?

I managed to nab an order which was scheduled for build week 23, slightly delayed by a week.
White with panoramic roof, no spare wheel, although not had to use a spare since about 2004, so not that concerned about the spare (weight saved in one aspect).

I think 6-8 weeks is usually about right from my experience in 2019 (it took 6 weeks then). The car takes about 4 weeks on the ship, then you've got the transport to the ship, then to the dealer at the other end. Our Ed25 was also confirmed week 23 and as of yesterday it's still showing build week 23 (3 weeks ago). There's been no further movement showing on the system which is strange - I would have expected it to have been on the boat well before now.

Any update from your end Trev? Apparently mines currently in Emden. I'm sitting watching the ships on 'VesselFinder' daily, no joy yet.

Wife's was on the Glovis Sun which arrived in Emden a few days ago after getting held up with a wolf spider infestation! Specialists had to be brought in to clean the boat, a lot of the cars were covered in spiders and webs! I noticed that the Weser Highway sailed up to Newcastle a day after the cars would have been offloaded at Emden, but I don't know whether ours was on it.

Glovis Sun? Was wondering how that was spelled, I was looking for Glover Son, Sun, Clover something.. No wonder I couldn't find it
But, thats the same ship which brought mine in! Great, didn't know about the spider infestation, I get a free spider with the car? Yey?

If the Edition 25s weren't on the Weser Highway, then they might be on the Neptune Hellas due into the Port of Tyne from Emden tomorrow (31/7).

Excellent news. Are you taking it straightaway or waiting until 1st September for the new reg?

I'm getting the dealers to put my new private reg on it, so probably asap. 24 reg disguised as a 21 reg

Requesting them to add front/rear dash cams and a tracker too. I don't want this car going missing

Maybe also consider getting GAP insurance if you’ve not already got it. I’d strongly recommend you don’t buy VW’s own GAP insurance though as it’s way overpriced. You can buy the cover much more reasonably priced direct from the likes of ALA, Total Loss GAP and GAPInsurance (there will be plenty of other reasonably priced GAP insurance providers too; worth doing a search).

How much are they charging for the dash cams? Last time I was in the dealers when mine was having work done I saw that they sold the same Nextbase one I have but it cost more than I paid at Halfords, plus I dread to think what they’d charge to install it. It’s easy enough to install using a fusetap kit and the ground point is right next to the fuse box.

"£300something" from what I can remember from the conversation I had with the dealers in May.
My current cam (Kenwood) was transferred from my GTI 6C to my GTI AW for no charge, so no idea what they will slap on top of this one.
