Great news - and only 67 pages later on this noticeboard!
You're in for a treat when it arrives
Did my longest ever journey unexpectedly in it last night - a 5 hour trip on the M4 to Reading and back to Penarth in virtually one go, via A4 for a large part of the time on the way back due to the M4 being closed Westbound. Averaged 42.2 overall for just under 300 miles, which is down on what I expect when the engine is more run-in but still pretty acceptable for a GTI. Noticed that it didn't seem to make much difference to economy if I was doing 60 or 75 which seems weird but will wait until more miles before checking further.
The car feels so planted and sure on the road that I arrived back at about 02:45 without having to resort to looking out of alternate eyeballs at the end due to tiredness. The last car I had that was this effortless was a Volvo S60. This GTI is a brilliant car...
PS - whoever designed Reading's road system and signposts had to be on drugs. This has to be the worst city I have ever driven in for directions and clarity - even the TomTom on my iPhone gave up the unequal challenge. I particularly like the tiny direction signs appearing on the sliproads you should have been on after you've passed the turnings - nice touch...

Has anyone ordered their new polo in Oryx white apposed to the pure white?
I'm curious what the difference is given the price difference. Does anyone have a photo of an oryx white polo they could post?

Once saw a oryx white one in Leeds city centre, It looked really good nothing like a flat white, especialy with the LEDS reflecting a bluey colour on them

Waiting at a roundabout I spotted some LED headlights approaching and thought "No, surely it can't be!" But yes it was, saw my first other 6C Polo GTI on the road today. 3 door Flash Red with a Jack Russell sat in the passenger seat. Anyone on here?

Early days, but they seem very good tyres. Dry grip is excellent and the car corners on rails.
how's the comfort and noise?
I've not had cause to complain about either. I think the demo car I tested had Continentals and I can't remember thinking bad about them either, but really only a back-to-back test would show any differences up.

Well guys, rang the dealer up yesterday to find out when my car would be here to find out he'd sent me a video of it the same day as it had just arrived. I should do the sensible thing an wait until the 1st of September but I'm picking it up on the 18th of August as I can't bare to wait any longer! It will have a private plate on anyway so no one will know how old it is! Can't bloody wait after seeing everybodys cars on here!

I'm quite proud I started this thread all those months ago lol. Think its a good thing for people to share their thoughts and knowledge on the same subject. Around end of sept or start of Oct I'll hopefully have my own GTi and can contribute more.

It's nice to know Andy that you are very near to a happy final and it's great that you have started this thread some time ago. This forum is one of the two largest English-speaking places on the Internet when you can get some info on Polo GTI, second being an Aussie forum.
My build date was not confirmed yet, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed to have similar date as most of people get here, so week 37 commencing 7th Sept.
