I'm just about to get one for my insurance re-work (proof that you can get blood from a stone)..

Ever broken one? I'm looking for inspiration, last one i got was to drive to south wales, so it went rallying in the forest of dean... Only managed to set the pads on fire though :( ...

Who'd have thought that a 206 estate would fly

i reversed one into a wall

dented the boot lid

then told the guy who picked it up it was like that when i got it

(and as i hadnt checked the car when they dropped it off he couldnt argue)

I broke a slush box on a Rover 75 that I had to go on a course......

When I say broke I mean really broke - no gears no drive just an awfull smell of toasted fluid

I thought I was gonna get some crap for that but the hire company turned up with a low loader and another manual car on it and the driver said it was the 3rd time he'd collected an auto 75 -seems like they are quite easy to break

An auto Rover... oh dear

It was probably best to put it out of its misery!

You've really got to be insulted when they give you a rover

I'm tempted by two suggestions i got from mates today (if only i had more guts)

a)top up the engine oil with veg oil and plead ignorance.. "sorry, it was low and i read on the internet you could use veg oil instead"

b)take out the roof lining and smear fish paste on the underside (similar to option of haddock in the air vents)

Still, my bro is moving house the weekend i've got the hire car, so we're gonna at least play the how low can you get the hire car by filling it with crap game..

Yeah, I had a Rover 25 last summer as a hire car with leather seats, white dials, cd player AND changer but no air-con, or sun roof.

The rear spoiler melted.

VW gave me brand spanking golf with 400miles on it in the summer while i was waiting for them to get my polo ready. I skuffed up the bottom of the back bumper (forgot it was bigger than the polo when parking it at work) They did'nt notice... serves the right as they wouldnt let me take V6 they had on the forecourt and gave me a 1.4mk5

"the fiesta" a farmer wrecked my polo and for 3 weeks i drove a 1.4 fiesta, it was sh*t, it had 4 miles on the clock when i got it and i put 1000 on it in 3 weeks! broke the seat knocked the exhaust from its mount doin a handbrake turn in a field  lost a wheel trim, got a flat, did nearley 60 in 2nd gear for 2 miles, slipped the clutch a lot and it used to stink, i was so pissed off about losing my car for nearley a month and being given a toy, vw are just a class above!

Finally got the work done, they gave me a new 1.0 micra...

Damn thing only went and got a puncture within 45 minutes of picking it up. I was so pIssed off that i drove it the mile i had left to go to work with a flat...

So that was the end of my fun, puncture repaired and limited to 50mph... ish...
