Does anyone know places to get rocker covers chromed (preferably in Scotland, but not neccessarily), or was it already chromed and simply bought? I've seen a few people with them before and wondered...

There is a place in hillington called peacock and trelfa a think. (Excuse the spelling) Had some classic car bits done there - bumper, grill and bumper overriders - very good results. (mega bling )

You MUST prepare the item first, or the results are crap (peals off after a month or two.)

prepare - as in wire brush the rocker back to bare metal! hard work unless you have an electric drill and a rotating wire brush then its just time and no effort.

I know a chap who could not be arsed and didnt prepare it at all handed his bumper in came out nice and shiny, but the GB sticker remains were still visable on the chrome!

So he hates that company!

So if you are willing to put some effort in they are good.

You could get an angle grinder with wire brush attachment for not much more than 15 quid. I'm just gonna paint mine when the time comes tho.

Liking the colour coded TB elbow on that!!

I'm looking at doing re-conditioned rocker covers. They would be about £15 exchange, probably in gloss or matt black or silver. The paint I have to do them is very durable and heat resistant.

Will a MKIV Rocker cover fit? If so this would be easy!!!!





Casting quality is pretty poor and I'm no David Bailey and the photos were done under house lighting so it looks better in the flesh......

Man I have so got to get out more!!!!!

Yeah I'll give them a ring on Monday and then pass on all information I find out.

There is a place called Cleveland Chroming, close to where i live. I was quoted £30 to chrome a mk3 polio rocker cover.

I enquired about this a little before christmas, but mangled my ride, so its been on the back burner since

it's worth noting, before your rocker cover is chromed, it will need to be smoth as possible (basically polished) to give the best results, chroming will only highlight the minor imperfections in the metals surface.

Cost me around £55 to have my rocker cover and dizzy cap cover triple chrome plated, but i'd polished both of those previously.

6N rocker cover's will fit, but they require abit of machining and a breather pipe drilling and tapping in. I can do this for around £50.
