Tyres

Well, I wasn't quite ready for having to fork out for a pair of new tyres but having kurbed my car on Monday night, i'm now looking at 3 new tyres.
My rear two tyes are down to 1.8mm and my front passenger side one is now egged after hitting a kurb.
Dont ask
I'm considering getting 4 brand new tyres and saving my one decent tyre just in case of a puncture.
What tyres do you guys use, and what tyres would you choose.
I'm leaning towards a set of Toyo Proxies T1-S

Yeah I'm looking at the Toyos for replacing my rear tyres sometime in the next few weeks. I think dubpolo will tell you that the Toyos are the ones to have!
Swapping all four is a sound plan, rather have 4 identical tyres than 3 matching and one odd. See if you can get them filled with nitrogen whilst you're at it
Oh yes and I have budget Avons on the front, called Cooper Cobras. Falken ZE-512s on the back with a really wierd sidewall design on them that looks huuuge for some reason

If you want a fine tyre at a reasonable price go for Khumo
- fanatstic value
- nice tread pattern
- grip very well wet and dry
they aren't Toyo or Yokies but for the money bloody close

Go for Michelin Pilot Exalto's.
Superb tyre and very grippy.

i've jus bought a set of yoko a539 for £180, changing from the falken 512's as i get way too much understeer for my liking.. hoping they'll improve it!
my mate works for a tyre fitters and says toyo's are one of the stickiest out there but b prepared to replace them a lot sooner than you would others!!

I had Michelin Pilots on my old rims and they weren't great but then again not that bad, heated up they were sticky but sometimes in the rain they would lose grip.
I'm currently riding on Pirellis P Zeros and so far they have been great, no complaints so far.
I've always heard good reviews about the Toyo Proxies, the fact that they are sticky and pretty good value makes a great tyre overall, shame that they don't have them in 195/40/16!

I knew i could count on you guys to find me a good deal.
I shall ring a few places in the morning to see how much they'll charge to fit and balance them.
I went to one of my local garages who could do me Khumo tyres for £38. Thats with valves, fitting and balancing.
Decent price me thought.
£174 for a set of Toyo T1-s delivered is an opportunity not to be passed up on.

by the time you've had them delivered fitted and your wheels re-balanced your talking £55+ per corner. not such a good deal now!

But around these parts I can't get Toyos for even £55, let alone £40. My best offer so far was at Hi-Q, where I was offered the next model of Goodyear tyre down from the Eagle F1, for £69 per corner - I forget what it was called
Even at £55 a corner it's pretty good value IMO

£204 for the lot for me! £174 for the tyres and delivery. £30 for fitting, balancing and discarding of my old tyres.
Cheapest i got qouted from tyre places was £244 all in.
