I remember vaguely seeing some white dials on a either a Lupo or Polo, I never thought anything of it but then in this months The Golf magazine there is some German guy who installed a set of white Lupo dials in his MkI Cabby!

Has anyone else seen them? Which cars did they come on? Wouldn't it be different to get hold of a set? Hmmm....ebay methinks!

Ebay would be a good bet. But can I ask, what's wrong with the blue/red dials we have atm? They are gorgeous IMO

Still, I don't know of any other GTis with white dials - would be quite unique

Oh, just remembered. Lockwood do white dial kits! However, I've only been able to find a kit for the 6n, for £39.99.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I love the blue-lit dials we have but it would be nice and different to have some white dials...like Si_GTi said it would be unique...

As for the white dial kits I don't think you can get a kit for the Polo MkV dials as they come in one unit.

If you could source a spare binnacle you could develop a template for a kit... then copyright it and sell it for lots of cash

On mine IIRC I have a dial for revs on the left, one for speedo and a little digi display on the right, and the clock at top centre. So that's three dials, two of which are identical in size. It'd be possible using the mk4 dial kit as a guide to sort something out - one of those dials for petrol or oil would probably be the right size for the clock, you'd just need to mod it a little to fit the clock's centre in it by punching a hole in the middle of the white dial.

Its a bit of work, but it's doable if you really want to "get the look" as it were.
