I can beat that: 26mpg last time i filled my mk2 up.

I ran some redex through the carb a few weeks ago though and Ive done about 50 miles since I filled it to the top and its still reading full. Last time Im sure it was getting towards 3/4 after 50 miles, (the fuel gauge on the mk2 is very linear) And I had to fill up when it was bordering on red after a measly 210 miles. By comparison I managed 43mpg on a trip down to bristol in the 1.4 GT (which is far from standard) but that required a very light right foot.
Anyway I shall let thee know if running redex through the carb has *magically* sorted my fuel economy.

Have you set your float height up?

Sounds exactly like mine.. very easy to guage because I go through a quarter of a tank every 50 miles. It was a right shock borrowing my sister's corsa to drive to pembroke, got there and it still had most of the tank left, 50mpg.. wish mine would do that

Yep, sadly made no difference at all

I asked my mechanic and he said it was almost certainly the jets, because weber don't set their carbs up for the individual car they're sold for, they just sell them as a standard setup. Just trying to find out what size jets I should be using and where I can get them from now..

First thing is not what jets you need but what jets you are running!!!

Thats the bugger - carb off and to bits and look at all the jets they are stamped with their sizes
I'd be buying this
