mine is actually leaking from inside the tailgate. i have taken the trim off, and the sound deadening is soaking wet. has anyone else had it leaking in this area, if so what did you do to rectify it?

I had the same problem, was leaking... removed the torx screws from 'inside' the boot handle, then the boot trim unclips to reveal the water pipe - luckly for me, all that was wrong, was that the water pipe had somehow become disconnected from the connector that went to the rear wiper, so simply clicked it back in place and it worked perfectly again.
Wiped up and dried any water present and allowed the boot trim/sound deadening to dry naturally indoors, before clipping it back on (don't forget the screws to hold it firm in place)

I had the same prob - took off the rear passenger interior panel and found that the connectors for the water fee was loose so just re-fitted it and used some gaffa tape and cables ties to hold it in place. The wiring loom to the rear lighst was soaking tho....

cants say that impressed me!!! but its all good now!

could always use the missus hairdryer to dry out your sound proofing

its because you used it when the pipe was frozen. this forces the pipe off and can damage it, its really common and has happened to me. is your boot open warning light always on too from the water in the sensor? if there is cracking of the pipe you will need to buy more parts from vw but it will be a cheap job.
