sounds like a virusey trojany thing a ma bob.

giz your username/passwords and i'll see if it works off my pc...........

(ahem, joke)

see if you can try it off another machine, which you have the authority to zap the cache and history files on when you're done playing. if you can still get in there, then your computer's probably having a spyware / malware hissy fit and you should clean it out pronto. if it still doesnt work, and you KNOW the other computer is clean, then either ebay, paypal, and your net banking services are all having a bad day at the same time ---- or your accounts have already been compromised (it's very suspicious, three major money-handling sites conking out at once) and you should get to checking / limiting damage and having the passwords etc reset immediately.

  :(

Hey ceedubya I have had this problem for the past 2 days! Used the computer at night like usuall turned it off all was fine. When I came home from work I turned it on and some message came up I never took much notice of it so i just carried on. I then noticed that all my icons had moved about on my desktop so I thought that was strange. So I went onto the internet all was fine untill I tried to log into my hotmail accout AND my ebay accout. Every time I try and do this it says my computer is set not to allow cookies even thought it IS! I have now set my protection to the lowest setting which allows all cookies and it STILL tells me my computer does not accept cookies!

Is this the same problem as you have? Anyone got any ideas what I can do? I have tried everything in Internet options but I'm really confussed.
Please help me too!

If you don't already have them...

Ad-Aware SE Personal: www.lavasoft.de

SpyBot Search & Destroy v1.3: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool: linky

These three used in conjunction with each other will rid your PC of any spyware or malware lurking on your system. You should also have up-to-date anti-virus protection, either paid for or free, whichever you prefer, and make sure that you have some kind of firewall protection, even if it is just Windows Firewall!

I would hope that Ad-Aware and Spybot should tackle any rogue software on your computers, usually does the trick! Here at home I use both applications regularly (scans performed once a week) and also have AVG AntiVirus Free Edition installed and up-to-date. Finally my broadband goes through an ADSL router with built-in firewall, which I have got locked doen tight, and so far... so good

HTH!

EDIT: oh yes, get Firefox too whilst you're at it :D

i had the same symtoms as you  polo-03
i have sorted mine now :D
i ran a live update with norton antivirus which found some updates which i loaded
then i did the same with spy sweeper which also had updates which i loaded
i had already done a full scan with both twice and it did not cure the prob
so i think the updates must have been for this virus or whatever it was
my pc is working tip top tickety boo now
hope that helps you out
