I checked with my local VW dealership who told me that fronts should be 2.1bar, and rears 2.3bar. I usually run about 2.1 all round mind you and its fine :)

As it's FF car, why rear pressure higher than front?? :?

Inside the petrol cap on my car it says

2.4 bar front and 2.2 bar rear.
that's 35 psi front and 32 psi rear

thats what I keep mine at and tyre wear is fine

I think the fronts should be higher because of the weight of the engine.

The most important thing is that the pressures are even on both sides of the car.

What size are the standard tyres? 195/45 R15? I have 25 back and 27 front, but I thought it might need more.

It should usually be higher at the front as they do almost all the work as well, but it all depends if you want understeer or oversteer. Put more in the back for oversteer, or more in the front for oversteer.

Oversteer usually safest, but its a matter of preference, it just depends wether you want to see the tree that kills you or not.

Yes, I just find out the label inside the petrol cap, but why have to pump
35psi, it's so high pressure for a 1090KG car
As I know , many 1000-1100KG cars only need 30psi............

I'm going to try 32psi on my fronts, see if it helps reduce understeer when its damp

But one thing is true, 35psi must save little fuel
Now, my place need GBP $1 per L.............

Right - I put 35 in front and 32 in the back as stated, and its too hard. So I'm going for 32 in front and 30 in back now. 195/45/15 .

It drove ok, but it was clearly too hard, would be fine for motorway but too hard for normal usage, I like my car to be peaceful and not bounce over the pot holes that my council have left for me.

I have new alloys and tyres now. They look very very nice in my opinion. Will post pics, when I get around to it....
