The other day I noticed the RH main headlight was not aligned correctly, and when going over small bumps the thing rattled and the light beam moved all over the place. Tonight whilst driving home people were flashing me with their high beams, I couldn't work out why.........I get home and notice there has been a FIRE inside my headlight. The thing is screwed the plastic is melted and the light is buggered. Looks like a trip to the wonderful (not) service people at VW tommoz. Will keep you posted. Lets the fun and games begin.

Did they say what had caused it and where abouts in the headlight did it start?

All they said was "Oh thats not good" The problem was the globe had come out of its fixed position and further into the headlight, so the inside of the headlight was on fire. No wiring damage.

Maybe there is a known fault. VW replaced my driverside headlight while it was in for a service. They didn't tell me exactly why. I just said the light was a little misaligned.

Are you sure that they changed it?
