Brake Upgrade

This is probably related to something 2fast4u posted in the New Polo section but my question relates to the GT.

I've been looking at Briskoda and saw the DIY guide for upgrading the brakes on the Fabia VRS. Are the brakes/setup the same on the GT and Ibiza? So will i have any problems following the DIY for a Fabia on my GT?

Hopefully Josh or Toxxin can shed some light on this but possibly others could too!? Please?

Also if anyone could tell me exactly what models had the callipers and disks for 312mm brakes that would work for this mod it would be most useful. Thank you

Many of us have wanted to put bigger disc's on or Vag based rides, you cannot unless you buy VRS hubs as well as new dics, calipers, pads, the vrs is the only one in the current line up that can have its brakes uprated.

Aren't the parts from a GT VRS and FR the same?

I have no idea to be honest, as far as I have read so far, I thought only the Vrs was doable without major chew.

i have the vrs hubs with TT brakes on mine , also have the vented TT rears on mine too
ya can even get R32 or v6 TT brakes on if you have the vrs hubs but the discs and pads cost silly money
the brakes are very very good now , you notice most braking from high speeds
ya gonna need alot of power to be needin anything more than this set up

dubya sounds like a very nice setup you got there, I have one of the newer polo's with drums on the back (cringe) are there any issues regarding replacing them with disks, is it possible do you think to put what is currently the front discs/hubs on the back and just putting VRs hubs and bigger disks on the front, if you get my drift?

the axles are all the same wether it has drums or discs but you would need the full set up
i would not try and put your fronts on the rear,
it could probs be dun but there are alot easier ways to do it

How much would it be to buy and fit VRS hubs?

Cheers
