Stuff from the states

It's grate at the mo, i wish i could get car parts and tools that way as well. Already lower-than-the-pounds-figures dollar prices, divided by 1.8 or better...
Levi's for a tenner (the jeans Asda was banned from selling in the UK (though their £3 knockoffs are just as good) but WalMart continue to flog in the states)
Half-gig flash memory (both USB pen or SD-card) for less than $50 / £27 a piece.
Recent CDs for $15 (ok, i know, there are Sales continually in the UK, but this was stuff likely only to be found cheap in the USA - like Poodle Hat from the on-form Wierd Al)
Triple set of the most recently released Studio Ghibli DVDs (all double packs, though to be honest its a marketing ploy - the meagre "extras" could easily fit in one dual layer disc) - The Cats Return (gonna be a while til im drunk enough to watch that) and indescribably superb remasters and re-dubs of Porco Rosso and Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind. You need those last two discs in your life even if you don't like animated films, or even film in general. Quite simply The Gorgeness.
$20 a disc. In other words £35 for 3 well-worth it DVDs that will probably sell here for £20 a throw without the extras.
(yes, i have a multiregion player and TV, so blah)
America rocks. Too bad they don't have Polos. Maybe we can trade with them, you know, set up some kind of rudimentary bartering system. They get small, well built, economical cars to deal with their traffic/parking problems and rising fuel prices, we get inordinate amounts of electronics consumables (the cameras/mp3s players themselves being as expensive as / more expensive that the UK), local-market media and clothes. Perhaps a few cans of unleaded on the sly as well.
(unfortunately trade links have broken down until more relatives / friends go daytripping!)
