I've got one and what I can say is this:
Do not expect your power to increase, ok maybe you will get some better high end power (at high revs), but not by a lot. What I noticed with the k&n 57i mostly is the responce. Its improved quite a lot, touch the accelarator pedal, and you get the power on much more immediate than with the normal filter

my mpg hasnt gone up.
car sounds more throttley (if thats a word) when accelerating kinda like a fake turbo.good if your running along in 3rd at 30ish then boot it.
other than that slightly better throttle response and nice little toy in your engine bay.im also running 2 cold air feeds on mine.
my mate reckoned it sounded quite good too.

cant remember where i got mine from just go on google and dont pay more than £60 . sits where the standard crappy airbox normally is then there is one air feed down the left side as you look in that goes down to the lower grill in the bumper and another on the right hand side as you look in going to a small space behind the front which i found . looks abit odd at mo as one pipe is standard black k&n thing and the other was sum shiny aluminuim/foil type thing.

This is how mine looks like.
Regards noise, I cannot really tell because when I fitted the induction kit, I already had a back box, and probably the noise got damped by the noise of the back box
Regards mpg, I think it improved but by a very small margin, say about with 13L of fuel, instead of 180km I do 184km or even less.
When you accelarate hard, it sounds like a pppppffffffftttttt. Not a dumpvalve like sound, but more like air is being sucked in brutally (for a very short time)

balinju,
see you have taken out the warm air hose.but left the black crappy thing that sits near the wing.
on my car i left the warm air hose on connected to this and ran the clip thing that was under the old airbox to it still.
What did you do with the clip thing on your car just disconnect it alll then seal up any holes?

the black crappy thing on the left near the wing is still there because it was not disconneted completly yet

I removed the warm air hose completly because cold air is better for the car then warm air, and in my country, we never get temperatures below 5degrees so it is hardly for any use
The clip thing that you are refering to is the oil brether?
