My young sons Mk2 polo drivers door glass was smashed last night, does anyone know if the glass from a later model will fit ? before i do a tour of the local breakers.

you may need to swap the rubber seals around but otherwise it should be ok. There are some mk3 coupes that have flush fitting windows - you need to avoid these as they wont fit (i dont think) unless you keep the rubber that they come with.

Thanks for that but it's the main window that winds up and down that got smashed.

i have the drivers and passenger glass in my shed off a mk3 saloon (would that be the same anyone?) if you can't find any let me know.

The car is a coupe don't know if the doors/windows are the same as saloon .

the windows that wind up and down are all the same. Only thing is some are tinted and some arent.

The front end glass is all the same really between mk2 and mk3.. the rear end glass I believe is the same for coupe and saloon models but I don't think it's the same between mk2 and mk3s.. or something like that. Certainly the front drivers window will fit though.

the normal side windows and windscreen are all identical on mk2/3 coupes and saloons. Obviously the hatch has the long rear window...
