How much is ures lowered by? 60mm?

i cant afford alloys at the moment, so am thinking of lowering it on the 13s like you have. I assume these are just temporary wheel 4 now for you thou! :D

Hi, I am not sure how much the car is lowered really, but I would guess somewhere around 60mm. This is just temp because I have not been able to mount my wheels to se how low I can go.

Here are the wheels I bought for the car, they where bought for studded tires, (winter tires) but then all the snow disappeared so early, so I will be using these for summer tires this year.

Oz Chrono evo 195/50/15 gives a pleasant ride.

Image

The wheels came with a 25mm spacer on the inside, witch of course didnt fit ( to big centre ring ). So a filling ring had to be made from aluminium.

Filling ring on the polo. Now i just need my 60mm weel nuts :) and i can try them on.

Today i have been a little trip in the workshop..

I have started with a shaved bakhatch, cut out the handle and the vw logo and welded inn ned metal pieces, then som layers with filler. I have desided to keep the numberplate slot in it since i think the totally clean hatch look abit odd. :)

Image

I also made a frame to go in the back of the car, this is to support a wooden plate i am going to make, the plate will cover where the seats and the reserve weel goes. The point of this it to convert the car into a two seater in 2minutes when i am going for loooong trips where i need the extra space. frame will be painted black.

Image

It snaps nicly into the locks for the back seats.

cheers! Have a nice weekend!

I've been wanting a set of them wheels for a very long time! I couldn't find any 15" OZ Chronos, so I gave up!

Looking good, I can't wait to see it when it's done!

looks like you have an 8V....

so what engine mods are you looking to do?

btw nice wheels... looks like they will really suit the car... (put them on and take a pic)

are you gonna respray the whole car in another colour or are you gonna keep the standard colour?

Hi, little update on my polo project,

Toxxin: Glad that others have been trying to get these rims for the polo, it regained my hope for them. I have not been able to put them on the car jet so i have had my doubts about them looking good on a polo. Anyways i will soon be able to see, ( Ordered wheel nuts today ) :)

Bedi: jes its a 1.3L, not much juice in this baby, the original plan is to convert it to a 1.8t from a3/tt but this will be later on. Objective 1. Get car on road :D will post a picture of the wheels when i get them on :D The car is going to be totally re sprayed, not really sure on the color yet, i am thinking maybe a two color, top / bottom, but my best guess is black / candy pink ... hehe.

David b: thatx, I work as a graphics designer, and have no or little knowledge about anything to do with cars. This is much a learn as i go. and i am going slow. :D most of what i know is from watching / asking friends.

Some bits I picked up last Friday for the car.

Red tail lights..

Silver metal roof rails..

Looking very good there...

when will it be on the road (approx)?

is that the POLO GTI interior?

are the seats a straight fit in the MK4, and what about the door cards are they also?

looking for a complete respray? well the best colour for a MK4 is Windsor Metallic Blue (LN5Y)...

it looks sick when you have 1 part paint to 6 parts laquer

1.8T engine... man thats gonna be alot of work.... have you considered the POLO GTI engine 125bhp?

 tell me you could weld before!

where you've welded in new panels must be so tricky to get perfect... if you've done that good a job when you're learning how to weld, you've got lots of talent!!!

nice one :D

that is one fantastic piece of work mate...very good skills being utilised!

I do have a question though, where did you get the metal roof rails from?? i thought mk5 polo ones were rubber still like the mk4's? 8)
