So what's the story with these Skoda pins, do they fit or are they too long? And, more importantly, do they fit earlier models too?

:D

Ordered mine today, should be here Thursday, hoping I don't have to go too far removing the door panels :?

I have the SEAT versions on my car, they look similar but are squarer at the tops.

The fitment of them is poor, I have had to wedge paper in them to make them stay put and sit right, but have made a great improvement in brightening up the cabin.

I paid something like £6.50 for mine.

I seem to remember reading a how-to on uk-mkivs a few months back - from what I vaguely recall, this could be done without taking the door apart.

the pin had a D-shaped shaft, so you just wound the window down, grabbed the etg pin, rotated through 180 and removed - opposite to fit. I think there were warnings about the new pins being quite soft and easy to damage. unfortunately i'm a bit busy today, otherwise i'd dig the link out for you - i'll look later.

Well, paid £3.90 for mine (5% discount from ouir generous Skoda dealership...) today after a few minutes thought I finally figured out how to get them off (you turn the pin 90 degrees on the 9n).

They are a little bit longer than the standard pin, but it's hardly a 'problem' as its exactly the same height as the Skoda Superb :)

Modding is fun. :P

...is when the door pin is in the locked position.

On a worse note, my dash rattle is pretty much constant now
